I went to Nawab tonight for Iftar with my family because we had a very busy and long week. I’m so glad we didn’t go anywhere else. I called to make a reservation and the woman who picked up the phone was very kind and soft spoken. Upon our arrival to the ballroom where the buffet was set up, they had our actual names on the tables instead of just seating us anywhere or numbers which was such a personable touch. Esha was the hostess tonight and kindly greeted us and my parents with such a heart warming smile. They first had opened up only appetizers to begin and everything looked absolutely fresh and properly placed. The pakoras were devineeee & so crispy! The samosas were soft and flaky as well! She announced that we can begin to get appetizers and to just be mindful not to waste food and it is Ramadan. If anyone wanted to always add and go back they can which I can truly say no restaurant does that and it was soooooo appreciated. I’ve gone to so many buffets and it’s heartbreaking to see so much food go to waste. Sometimes a little friendly reminder goes a long way! Once dinner opened up they had Briyani, delicious haleem, butter chicken and my favorite were the fresh mixed kabobs! The makai boti chicken was exceptional! For dessert there was rasmalai and chai which hit the spot! Mainly, my favorite part of this evening was I wanted to really stay home but I didn’t want to cook. Going to nawab tonight was the best thing we did. It was quiet, peaceful, fancy and the staff were speaking to us like we were family. I would...
Read moreI've been coming here with my parents for years and have had many problems with this place but this last visit was the last straw. DO NOT EVER GET THE BUFFET. None of the food was fresh was clearly sitting out there all day. The worst part of it all was my cousin found a bug cooked into the chicken. They immediately took the piece of chicken away when we showed it to them (smart, because we were ready to take pictures). The young lady in the braces (didn't catch her name) claimed the bug must've flown into the buffet lid because it was "still alive" but this was clearly a seared bug. On top of that the service was (as usual) absolutely horrible. Half the time the restaurant was empty because they are too busy catering to the event hall they own next door. In the end they only comped us 1 meal even though all of us couldn't eat anymore after seeing that bug.
If you do try your luck and go here please go when they are serving the regular menu. I was kind and gave a two stars because sometimes the food is actually decent. Be wary of the lollipop chicken appetizer as we've gotten raw chicken from that in the past. And don't expect good service. Food often takes an hour or more even if the restaurant is empty. If you see a server be sure to get what you want because they might disappear into the other hall until its time for the check. My parents are going to continue going here out of loyalty but I'm never setting foot back into this...
Read moreI went to this restaurant looking for spicy Indian food to help my congested nasal passages. My wife and I have visited many Indian restaurants around the country and have always found excellent food, except this one.
I ordered Mixed vegetables curry which is described as "Seasonal vegetables cooked in a sweat red curry sauce". What I received was a can of diced carrots and peas with maybe a small potato cut in pieces in a bland red curry sauce. No other vegetables present.
My wife ordered Malai Boti which was described as "Chicken marinated in yogurt and spices". What she received was braised chicken which obviously was done in a hurry since the insides were still raw. She could not eat any of it.
On top of that our favorite, the Naan, looked more like falafel bread than Naan. It was thick, not thin and tasty.
The salad offered with my wife's dish was stale and unsavory as well as the dressings provided.
My wife ordered a ginger ale when we sat down but no one ever brought it until we asked a second time.
To top the experience when the waiter came to our table I told him about the chicken and he actually proceeded to slice open some of the chicken to try to prove me wrong!
It is a shame that this place calls itself an Indian restaurant. I hope people will go elsewhere and experience the REAL thing.
Despite the fact that my wife ate none of her food they charged us anyway. ...
