Came here on a date with my girlfriend for the first time for their happy hour, we arrived at 5:40pm (happy hour is 3-6pm) and we ordered drinks which were discounted during happy hour, and also ordered fried pickles which were also discounted during happy hour. After spending about 30-45 minuets there the food was great and the drinks were too, however the shady part came when it came time to pay, our server who was a young asian man (did not get his name), said he could only show me the bill and not my date because of “privacy reasons” which I found very odd because it seems rude to say that when my girlfriend was right next to me as if she wasn’t allowed to know the price, so the check was shown to me for about a total of 2 seconds and then he immediately went to the “tap to pay screen” page without even giving me a chance to look it over but I trusted this place because I’ve heard good things, so I tapped my card and was charged $46 for 2 happy hour drinks and pickles. As we were wrapping up getting ready to leave my girlfriend felt the need to ask me how much it was and why he couldn’t show her, so I showed her how much I got charged and she knew right away that something was not right, by this time we were starting to walk out but I turned around and went back in to ask a for a copy of my receipt. Long behold I was charged DOUBLE what I was supposed to be charged. I then spoke to the manager about this with no server in sight, I saw him in the very back looking at my girlfriend and I as I spoke to his manager and he pretended to be busy completely avoiding us during the interaction, after some time the manager went to the bar to check when the drinks were ordered and he just canceled the order and charged me exactly what I was supposed to pay which was $26! Half the price! because I assume he saw exactly at what time I ordered the drinks and food which was most definitely before 6pm. To sum things up I really started to like this place until that moment, all we got in the end from the server was “oops sorry it slipped by me” which it most definitely did not, they know exactly what they’re doing to raise the price to try to increase the overall tip. Watch out for this place and most certainly double check your bill at the end of eating especially if you’ve had a drink or two, they think they can...

I wanted to wait a few months to post this, mainly because I did not want to remember this experience. After a few people told me to post a review, I finally decided to. I was a student at the Claremont Colleges and had a few friends visiting me during spring break. We all decided to come to Eureka burger to have a few appetizers and drinks one night. During that time and now, we were ALL over the age of 21 and had very LEGAL IDs. I would also like to add that all of us are also visibly not white. When a friend of mine and I decided to order drinks, they immediately asked for our IDs, which we gave. They then took our IDs to the back to cross reference them with a book. As much as I understand we had out of state IDs, I have come to this establishment multiple times with other friends from school, had my ID checked very briefly, and was given a drink. There was never a mention of an ID book that was cross referenced with our IDs. They brought our extremely legal IDs back and denied us drinks. At this point, we were all extremely confused. A few of our friends tried to order drinks after this. Without looking at their IDs, they denied all my other friends any drinks. We were confused, mainly because our IDs are valid, and simply questioned the manager. We offered any ways we could to validate our IDs, such as getting access to a scanner, but the manager refused. We at no point raised our voices, but were simply questioning why we would not be served any drinks despite being completely sober and over the ages of 21. Nobody in this group is confrontational, so getting visibly upset is never something that occurred, nor was there any yelling. The manager ended up saying something along the lines of “if you want to keep being aggressive and argue, you can leave. otherwise you can stop and enjoy your meal.” we were shocked. We asked for our waitress and cancelled our order, offering to pay for whatever we already ordered. She ended up saying our items were already comped (literal hush money 😭😭). I don’t blame anyone in this establishment except for the manager, who was clearly acting out of some sort of racism or bias. the service we experienced is proof of the amount of racial bias that exists in the establishment, especially with how we were spoken to by...

We recently discovered this area of Claremont and the Packing House district. We never knew this area existed! We visited on a Saturday afternoon and as expected the area and restaurant were busy. Parking can be a challenge, however we were able to locate off the street parking near the underground garage entrance. The parking garage entrance and exit is located next Eureka at the corner of 1st Street and Cornell Ave. If coming West from 1st St, make a left onto Cornell and drive South. You will hit a dead end and the parking entrance will be to your left. Those spots however have a 2 hour limit. Most of the parking is on the street and was packed, but if your persistent you may get lucky. We were staying for lunch so 2 hours seemed like plenty enough time. We had a party of 10 so we were told wait time would be 45 min - 1 hr. They ask for your number and will text you when your table is ready. Be sure to get back to the hostess quickly (within 5 min) or give them a call to let them know you are on your way or they will give your table(s) to the next party. We actually got called back after 30 minutes or so. My family and I had the Cowboy Burger, Kids Chicken Tenders and Kids Hamburger. All the food was fresh and tasted great. Portions are reasonable and we ended up with some leftovers too. Most dishes cost 14 dollars and up. Service was quick and friendly. They also have a bar and outdoor seating area. We noticed several diners brought their pets and they were allowed out on the patio. We didn't get a chance to explore all the shops and restaurants in the Packing House, but it seems to be a nice area to grab lunch and spend some time with the family. I would recommend you give Eureka a try or visit the Packing House for a...

Everyone was hungry on a Saturday night and wanted a place that is open late. My family decided to go to Eureka Restaurant. The wait was not very long and the hostess had a great disposition. They took us to our table and the chair was already removed, so I could roll right up to it ( I appreciate not having to figure out where to place the chair). Kudos to our waiter Ian, he's very funny, paid attention to details and very knowledgeable about the menu and beers, so it made it easy for us to order. We looked over the menu and decided on the chicken nachos as the appetizer, which was pretty tasty. I got the adult juice (alcoholic beverage) called Wild Child. If you're a fan of watermelon, mint, citrus and vodka get it. For meals ordered were the chicken tenders, Bison burgers ( if you cannot tolerate spicy food ask for the pepper on the side), and the Napa Chicken sandwich ( My daughter LOVES this dish). All were extremely tasty! I recommend getting the Honey-Cinnamon Sweet Potatoes Fries. They are hella yummy and rather addicting. If for some reason sweet potatoes are not your thing, their Signature Fries are mega tasty too. 🤤😋 The atmosphere is nice, just a smidge too dark so I had to bring out my phone for extra light to read the menu. LOL Eureka is a great place to take a date, a group of friends or older kids. You want beer there's a HUGE selection to choose from. I also appreciate how accommodating they are to guests in wheelchairs, with open aisles, and moving around tables to make getting to your table easy. ♿💜 It can be pricey, and if you have food allergies like I do, your food selections are limited. However all and all Eureka is a good place to get a great meal.

Such a cute place to come to. It's on the smaller size so walking up my friend and I noticed a good amount of people waiting outside. We went inside to put our name down and ended up getting seated right away because everybody else who was waiting were waiting for inside seating. We sat outside even though it was rather cold out. On the plus they do have heaters outside that give off the perfect amount of it. For appetizers we shared the falafel bites and the macaroni and cheese balls. The falafel bites were amazing. The tzatziki sauce that they had on them was perfect. I enjoyed them so much. The mac and cheese balls were good. For our entrees I ordered the hemp bowl and my friend got the bison burger. My hemp bowl was delicious. On the healthy side. Which isnt a problem but still flavorful. I took a bite out of my friends burger. Yum the bison was cooked perfectly. All around really good burger. We both thoroughly enjoyed our food. To drink I ordered the charcoal lemonade which was surprisingly good. And my friend got the lavander ice tea. I liked her tea but she didnt care for it. 4 stars because the food was delicious 1 star off because apparently our server went MIA on us. We sat down and got walked passed as if we weren't even there. Another server noticed and tried to help us out as much as possible. It was nice of him considering we weren't one of his tables however it just made everything that much longer for us. Everyone else who was seated after us got helped right away. As long as the service is better I'll be back because the food is good.

Interesting spot on Claremont. Mostly know for burgers, but they also have chicken sandwiches and salads. I got the cowboy which has fried onion shoestring, bacon, Beer BBQ sause and cheddar on a toasted bun. I got the basic fries, but they have a lot of other sides you can get. Brussel sprouts, salads, sweet potato fries, cheese fries and a few others. Burger was good, probably try another side next time. They have a few different burgers and over bison burgers. We also got a seared Ahi Salad with a peanut dressing. You can however get it with other dressings of your choice. We got for dessert their bourbon barrel caramel case with roasted pecans, and vanilla icecream. Really good and a larger serving you can split. They have 3 or 4 others to try, but our server recommended the barrel cake. Alcohol is a little more upscale, so don't expect to get your Captain, Gray Goose or crown here. They are going to offer other brands, but I did enjoy my Corsair and Coke. They have some of their specialty drinks that rotate through the year. Their beer is also on a rotation so you can get a variety through the year. They also offer beer flights so you can try a few too see what you like. Overall really nice place. Little small so expect to wait if your a large party. Also you will probably be a little close to others.
