Truly awful. As soon as we saw the dilapidated exterior I thought we should turn around. Then entering the bathroom to wash my hands...It's not clean. There is toilet paper for paper towel. We came for sushi and hibachi. When we ordered the sushi and water we figured we would wait to see how that was before ordering more after not being impressed already. The water here tastes like poison. Seriously chemical disgusting. I took one drink and spit it back into the cup. Bitter.... how are you possibly serving this to people and what is in it to make it taste like that?! The sushi was not good either. The co-op has better sushi. The shrimp tempura tasted stale. Our waitress wasn't great. She never came and asked how anything was or if we were ready to order the hibachi. She also just wasn't friendly or joyful by any means. After leaving we went to Ramuntos to finish dining and were met with a very friendly tentative server. Also the water was much better (for tap). This is just down the road so I can't imagine why the water is so bad at Kouzoku. Most Asian owned establishments that we patronize are proud business owners. They have integrity, are personable, make good quality food and care about cleanliness. This was not our experience here. We both felt sick minutes after eating the sushi and tasting that "water". The only thing going for this place is the interior woodwork, and aesthetic. It could be a nice establishment if there was a higher level of care.

The food was tasty and fast... perhaps too fast. The sushi rolls fell apart, probably because they weren't pressed together enough to keep them from falling apart. Perhaps part of the problem was that the server and her mom were more worried about playing with the little one with them than serving the actual customers. The Kani salad was delicious but tiny. That was not worth the money at all. There either wasn't desert, or the staff was trying to get rid of us quickly, because she never even asked us if we wanted it. It was a dine-in experience, and we were in and out within 30-35 minutes. Prompt service is one thing; this seemed rushed.

Drinks were not good but the local loved them. I'm guessing they don't travel too far. Tasted like flavored Tang mixed with something they found that's pretty horrible as well. Habachi Food was very good per my group, They recommend getting the noddles in lue of the rice. NOT GLUTEN FREE that I saw. Sushi was one of the best I've had. Cook was great. Short staffed so long wait but who isn't these days just made a night of it which was my intentions anyways. Had fun over all. But if you ever had a real mai tai or Scorpion bowl before, Avoid these here.

Worst restaurant experience ever. 5pm on a Friday and the hibachi grill was not open and was not even given a choice was just given a table and the host walked to the table before we even knew what she said or what’s was going on. Hibachi grill and the entertainment is the reason I want to go to a place like that. Sat down and was asked what I would like for dinner before I had a chance to open the menu. Asked for 2 waters to start. Water came in 1 minute and was asked what we would like for dinner. Asked for a scorpion bowl for 2. She said okay and asked what we want for dinner. Said we don’t know yet. Bowl came out quickly and we asked for an appetizer. She said okay and asked what we want for dinner. Um we want to drink Some and talk and have our appetizer before we order, isn’t that how Friday night dinners out are suppose to be? Have never been rushed so much in my life. So after she left not more than 2 minutes later a different waitress came over before our appetizer came out and asked what we want for dinner. Give us a few minutes!!!!! Oh by the way every time they came over they checked a back room right next to our table where several children were sleeping. One whining and crying at one point. So we were continued to be rushed on what we wanted for dinner so we just ordered before our appetizer came out because we were uncomfortable. Appetizer was good but small portion for the price. Our hibachi dinners came out and were not cooked on a hibachi grill. So I’m paying hibachi entertainment and food taste prices without receiving it??? Steak was over cooked and the chicken was like rubber. On top of that the scorpion bowl was watered down gross and tasted like it was made with tang not orange juice or any real juice at all. Thought if we had a second drink it would be better... nope think again. Also the smallest straws for a drink that is for 2 people that you basically had to stand up and lean over the table to get a drink. So waitresses kept doing circles around the area where customers were seated, one going by at least every minute... Ever feel like your being watched? I put my fork down for 10 seconds after I got my dinner 2 minutes before and was asked if I want a box by the same waitress that brought me my dinner 2 minutes ago. When it came time for the check it was quick they took my card and had it back within a few minutes. I had the slip in front of me and was still talking to my wife and had not signed or written on the check yet just to be interrupted by the waitress asking for the check. It’s still in front of me, if I was done it would be back in the check holder and would be at the end of the table. Also who asks for it when it’s directly in front of me?!?!? Proper edicit you don’t even bother about the check after I sign it until we leave!!!! How are you in business??? Will...

I ate at this restaurant about 2 months ago. The food tasted good. The server packaged the left overs for us, and I ate them the following day at work. As I was eating the leftovers, still in the take out box, I began to choke on something. I had to pull out the object from my throat as I could not cough it up and it was very sharp and painful. I found that a 4" piece of steel wool had been in the food, and this is what I choked on. After going to the hospital to have the cuts in my throat examined, I went back to the restaurant and spoke with both the owner and the manager about the incident. I just wanted them to provide me with their insurance information, I did not ask for any money what so ever. I was treated extremely poorly and was told that since the incident did not happen at their restaurant, they were in no way to blame because I "clearly put the metal there". I was appalled at their accusation that I would try to set them up. I contacted the Department of Health, who did not fine them, as well as a lawyer. Unfortunately, the cost of the lawyer was too much, so I was unable to resolve this issue. I warn everyone, that this may happen to you. Had the restaurant appologized and even offered to pay for the meal, I would have been satisfied, but their blatent disrespect was...
