I went to District Taco on opening day and had a mediocre experience with average food. I decided to wait a bit and try again figuring it was growing pains and new staff trying to find their sweet spot. I went to DT today and picked up lunch after ordering via their app. I arrived a couple minutes before “ready time” and ended up waiting an additional 10 minutes past the pickup time specified in the app. I ordered a quesadilla with the chicken as everything else is an upcharge. I also ordered three chicken tacos done “el jefe”. I was sharing everything with my significant other.
First the quesadilla. These are served in a bowl and is a large tortilla (straight outta the plastic package) and placed on the grill to warm up all the items inside. Chicken, black beans, veggies, pico, and cheese were on this creation. I requested sour cream and medium salsa on the side. I did not receive the salsa. The quesadilla was lukewarm, but flavorful. In hindsight I should have rewarmed this item in a skillet and it would likely have been better.
Next, the tacos. Our order contained three identical chicken tacos with “el jefe” toppings. My first impression, cold soggy tacos. The chicken was cold, below room temperature. The toppings certainly didn’t help and were all contributing to the wet soggy feeling. There were far too many toppings in this single soft taco and made it impossible to eat. I removed 1/2 of the lettuce, pico de gallo, and sour cream mix and ate one of the tacos. I wasn’t able to eat the remainder due to the temperature and soggy condition.
I wonder if this place will ever get up and running and the food as good as its reputation from...
Read more11/14/24 OKAY SO! I have been looking forward to this place opening up for so long and I am so excited that I got to try it today. I like making reviews and I am always honest about it! But anyways everyone there was extremely kind and sweet! From the moment I entered everything was extremely organized and clean, so that passed the first impression test! First, everyone seemed genuinely excited and it was nice to experience as a customer.. Second I was immediately greeted but also given space to think which was really comforting. Third, when I received my food each taco was individually wrapped and I haven’t experienced that before, which actually made things so much easier and it was really logical of them especially if you get 3 different tacos or if you take it to go it takes up less space than throwing 3 tacos in a big container. Fourth, the tacos were absolutely delicious. I am someone who doesn’t make things overly seasoned because then you can’t taste every ingredient and in this case that was not the problem so I was very happy. Everything was so fresh you could genuinely taste it. On top of that my toppings were nicely grilled and the quantity in each taco was just right. I honestly don’t have any complaints. Lastly, I want to mention that I deeply appreciate the affordability of the menu because with this economy it is not easy for most people and I feel like district taco did not exclude those with less financial flexibility and I didn’t feel guilty buying food today. So thank you for that! I had a lovely experience 🩷 oh & the owner, Paul, was absolutely great & I wish the best for him and everyone else...
Read moreI had a wonderful experience at District Taco this morning! First, I was instantly greeted at the door, which felt very inviting. The store looked pristine and very organized, even the bathroom smelled and looked so clean. I had a few questions about my protein options when ordering, since I am a vegetarian, and David was extremely patient and helpful with all of my concerns. The food was so fresh I honestly enjoyed every single bite and felt everything was reasonably priced for the quality you receive. Plus the food was prepared very fast which is extremely convenient when it comes to my schedule. I look forward to coming back and bringing my vegan/vegetarian friends...
