Quarantine Pick-up Review

We ordered through DoorDash for pickup after our bi-weekly grocery run. Decided to order enough for lunch and dinner (plus, we had a coupon, so why not?)

We had the Tiger roll (white tuna, salmon, crunch and spicy mayo, topped with tuna, salmon, BBQ eel, avocado, and black tobiko), Ninja Lunch Roll Combo (tuna avocado, yellowtail jalapeño, salmon avocado), Sushi and Sashimi Combo (5 pcs of sushi 8 pcs of sashimi, yellowtail scallion roll), and the Salmon Lover (4 pcs salmon sushi & spicy salmon roll).

Anything listed under the lunch specials come with a soup AND a salad. I was just happy that they even offered lunch specials on the weekend. All the rolls were great - perfect rice to fish ratio. I was a little iffy about the Tiger roll because in my past experiences at similar sushi places, special rolls are just meh - they usually have too much going on. But this one worked! Even though I don't even like eel, so that is saying something.

The app said it would take 20-30 minutes, which was accurate. Would definitely order for pick-up from here again. Too bad it's too far for delivery. But then maybe that's a good thing because then I'd probably go broke ordering from here...

We spent close to $100 on (2) sashimi deluxe orders delivered by DoorDash. The fish was completely inedible. I just read another recent negative review about “Ninja” saying the “sushi is fresher at ShopRite” I TOTALLY agree ShopRite sushi is very fresh and good. The fish from Ninja was like rubber; the quality horrible!! It was so bad I was compelled to call the restaurant to complain - while on the phone the man who answered started talking to who I can only assume was the sushi chef about my complaint he then directs the conversation back to me on the phone and says “no one else has complained??” When I pushed back on how bad it was - he said a manager will call me back. Needless to say that never happened. I gave them an opportunity to correct the problem which clearly they had no interest in doing. It was close to $100 with of bad sushi we literally threw in the garbage. Luckily, there are several sushi places to choose from in the area - This one is permanently off...

I read the reviews here and I keep thinking that the reviewers are talking about a different restaurant. My wife and I have been ordering from Ninja for 4 years now, we have never had one bad experience. Never!! We order from here at a minimum of once a month. We have also sat inside on a few occasions, but since COVID, not so much. The sushi here is as fresh as you can get. I have eaten sushi from many sushi spots and would put Ninja against any of them. I am a pretty picky customer and have asked for different variations from their menu and have always gotten exactly what I requested and exactly how I requested. Pricing could be better but I'll stick with the tried and true. I'm sure there have been some issues with service because they are always so crazy busy, but it has never affected my orders quality or the service provided. Thanks for the great...
