Wow! I was completely shocked, along with the 5 others in my party at the amount of issues that would be considered common practice in an eating establishment. Obviously, these are not part of your protocol.
Our server was very sweet, patient, had a sense of humor and seemed to know the menu. Evidently, I kindly made the mistake of asking her to clear appetizer platters and plates, since she responded in a snappy tone “ I am”.. If I was rude and/or snappy, I might understand her response. I couldn’t be nicer.
I didn’t complain about the 4 appetizers we ordered. First, we received the Bavarian pretzel, which was very good. The three other appetizers we did not receive for thirteen minutes after the pretzel. All three were awful and cold! The wings were too tangy, the muscles were fishy, by the way, serve them with a serving spoon. The fried pickles had too much pepper.
Let’s move on to dinner only because we have to. One person in my party ordered a pizza which came out right after the appetizers, 10 minutes before the rest of the dinners. The rest of the dinners were delivered in 3 deliveries. All except one person who received his meal 15 minutes after everyone else? Needless to say, it was refused. We didn’t ask prior because there was no one to ask and honestly, the way the food was coming out we figured it would come out in a few minutes. Not 15 minutes. None of the meals were hot or enjoyed, most people barely ate their meal.
We were almost done with our meals (what we ate of them) and the server went to the gentleman with no food and asked if she could get him something else. That was about after at least another 15 minutes. That gesture should have been made immediately when the meal was refused. Then a reputable establishment would have a manager come over and at least offer an apology.
I brought this group here for the first and last time and I must say, I was totally embarrassed for myself and for you. Do better…. You will never see me or anyone from my party in your...
Read moreWe hosted our baby’s baptism party here and, for the most part, the day was beautiful. The management team was helpful leading up to the event - they were lovely to coordinate with regarding setup and payments, which made the planning process smooth.
The servers, a mother and son duo (the son had a great mustache!), were originally warm and friendly. We made sure to treat them with kindness and respect throughout the day, and even tipped generously understanding how large the party was- above the included 20% gratuity, we gave an additional $50 per server because we truly thought we had a great experience.
Unfortunately, at the end of the event, three separate guests - none of whom know each other - came to me upset. They had overheard the older female server (the mother) in the bathroom, loudly complaining about our guests, cursing, and saying she “couldn’t wait for us to leave.” This was incredibly disheartening to hear, especially on such a meaningful and expensive day for our family and after tipping beyond what we should have.
As someone who has worked in food and beverage, I completely understand how exhausting events can be - I’m not claiming we were perfect guests. But we were genuinely respectful and made a strong effort to care for the staff offering them desserts and favors. I addressed the issue with the female manager on duty, who was kind and apologetic and told me she was shocked to hear this about an employee who had been with them a long time but would address it when we left.
It’s such a shame because until that moment, I would’ve recommended this venue wholeheartedly. But to have that cloud our experience - especially when we did everything we could to show appreciation to the staff - was really upsetting. I hope this was an isolated incident, but I wouldn’t want another family to feel the way we did on a day that was supposed...
Read moreHi Colleen & Oh’ Brian Staff, Thank you for everything YOU personally did to go above and beyond to make today happen for our family’s celebration. The atmosphere, the positive energy, level of preparedness, attentiveness to our guests were all amazing. Arriving at Oh’Brian’s from a solemn service to warm, welcoming staff was really wonderful. As guests arrived, they were brought to our private seating area and offered beverages and drinks from the bar. As people were greeting and gathering and getting situated, it was clear, staff was attentive and present. As discussed having the buffet style, everything was set and organized. People raved about the Garden Salad; The hot food entrees were phenomenal and plentiful; our guests felt comfortable heading up to get another plate. None of our guest felt rushed at any time and were grateful for being asked for drink refills. The bar service/staff was fantastic. The timing of the desserts was perfect. Despite the drizzly, dreariness of the day, guests took advantage of the canopied outdoor seating area-which is also lovely. We realize a restaurant works as a team, and this team was fabulous. Again, thank you, Colleen, for your open communications, input/feedback, flexibility and sharing various options for alternate layouts for accommodations. Again, planning something like this, there’s a deeper appreciation of having staff immediately demonstrate sincere kindness and understanding. Our family is truly grateful for the entire staff’s professionalism throughout this event. We would recommend Oh’ Brian’s for any family gathering, work event, get-together or to meet up with friends for food & drinks at this great,...
