Decided to finally try this spot out as it’s close to my house. I ordered togo a bacon, egg and cheese on toast with lettuce, tomatoes and mayonnaise, and ordered of home fries and a Snapple drink, which came to about $13. The sandwich only had 3 slices of bacon on it, and on top of that the bacon tasted old. Some parts of the bacon was leathery and other parts brittle very easily…, making for very uncooperative bites. The home fries were delicious with the first two bites that included the crusted fried top of the home fries. But once you passed the crust, they tasted like vegetables oil and was kinda hard to continue chewing. Taste is a very difficult thing to explain in some aspects, because we all have different palates. So in my opinion I wasn’t impressed with the food. But 3 pieces of old bacon, that barely covered the sandwich, is a bit disappointing especially for the price. I may return to try other items on the huge menu at a later time. But this review is strictly about what I ordered and my opinion...
Read moreWe've only ever been here for breakfast (though they have an expansive and good looking lunch & dinner selection) but the food is good and at a really reasonable price for being in one of the more expensive areas of MoCo. The women who run the place are nice and helpful with any questions or special requests you have. My son loves their pancakes, fresh and hot from the griddle. I almost always opt for the cream chipped beef over toast with breakfast potatoes as it's filling, tasty, and a rare offering of a working-man's breakfast in the area. You're likely to find some of Montgomery County's finest having breakfast here (both police and fire) as well as a motley assortment of plumbers, electricians, construction foremen, and other patrons who are always the sign of a good breakfast establishment. Honestly, if you're looking for tasty, but without having to take out a second mortgage to feed a family of four, this is the...
Read moreMOST AWESOME CUSTOMER SERVICE & PROFESSIONALISM! I just moved to the area and needed something quick to eat. I found this place on Google and put an order in by phone. The owner was very patient, friendly and even welcomed me to the neighborhood. When I arrived to pick up my order, I was graciously greeted by the owner who opened the door for me and walked in with me with a smile. He bagged my order with pleasant conversation and even gave extra napkins and salt and pepper packs since I had told him I haven't gotten to unpack those things from my move in yet. He then walked me to my car, carried the bags for me and put them inside of my car. What a surprise to be welcomed with such friendliness and professionalism! Rare! Thank you to the owners of Gateway for making me feel...
