El Paso Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Clarksville

I prefer to not be extremely critical of an establishment because everyone has a different experience. I'm going to provide a run down. Upon entering I was greeted by a maybe 9 yr old boy which is awesome, positive early work ethics development. I sat at the bar, and from my understanding the restaurant owner's daughter was bartending (she has long pink nails today, with eyelash extensions). She asked me what I wanted to drink at the bar and I asked for a Margarita. I did ask her for no salt. Of course I watched my drink as she prepared it. Very basic house Margarita with a mixer from a premade jug. The margarita was so so, I should've ordered one with a premium tequila. I didn't order food because I watched The cooks through the expo window prepare food and I was a little grossed out. Unfortunately, no one is wearing gloves, the line cooks were cross contaminating the finished entrees by grabbing and touching raw meat, cooking and then plating the food without washing their hands. But hey I'm sure I've eaten worse. But again it doesn't mean that the food tasted bad overall, I just couldn't eat here after seeing the food hygiene practices. The concerning part of my visit was the lack of social and interpersonal skills the owners daughter displayed. I attempted to dialog with her to establish a long- term business customer relationship. She was not willing to dialogue (the place was not busy). I asked about the restaurant's history and she seemed annoyed by my questions. I was never checked on until I asked her to prepare a drink for me. I'm not sure why she didn't even want to place my drink in front of me but at the edge of the bar, with salt on the rim after I asked previously to not place it on the rim. I'm not expecting to be catered to as if I'm needy however, it is a food, hospitality service industry. Learn your patrons, dialogue, and become passionate about the people who provide the money to support your life needs and wants. You never know what someone is going through, as well as I may not know what you're going through. This is why I'm not giving a 1-star rating. I placed an order online, and it was done on time. I can't attest to the friendliness of the staff, bc when I went to pick my order up no one greeted me, no one asked if I needed help, no one looked at me or talked to me at all. I waited at the front desk for about 2 minutes, but then I looked at the bag on the counter, saw it had my name, so I took it and left since I already paid online. (In all fairness, when I walked in, there was someone who was at another person's table taking their order) The front of house looked pretty clean from what I could see. The portions were ok. The chimichanga was loaded with a lot of chicken. I wish there was more white sauce bc there was only a tiny bit. But there wasn't too much rice or beans. It was just kinda spread out over a larger surface to appear like there was more than what there was. The tortilla chips were a little bland, but the dipping sauce was good. All in all, I wouldn't mind...

Found El Paso Mexican Restaurant via Google Maps. I am so glad we stopped! I am Thankful others before me took the time to leave a review. It makes a huge difference!

Warm and friendly greeting from Juan. He promptly brought us our drinks! The iced water was excellent. Filtered and with lemon. The chips and salsa was perfect on this hot summer day to munch on while we reviewed the menu!

We ordered from the lunch menu. Ample selection. Husband ordered the beef burrito real and I the chicken taco salad. Fast service. Food was prepared perfectly, and looked very nice on our plates. Portions were just right. We arrived starving and left stuffed!

I highly recommend El Paso Mexican Restaurant to anyone hungry!

The restaurant is very clean, especially the tables and booths. The restroom was equally clean! For anyone traveling - don't hesitate, easy on and off interstate and worth your time and money! Best meal we have...
