Bae Date at a Distillery

There has been lots of hype around this place, so we made some reservations for a party of four and headed over there on a Thursday night. I had never been to the Old Glory Distillery before, so I didn't really know what to expect. It's a very nice building with a really cool feel inside. I was surprised to find that, even with a reservation, we still had about a 15 minute wait and that there was no place to sit and wait while they got our table ready. I guess it's there way of 'forcing' you to walk around the gift shop...but oh well. We were brought to our table, sorta centered in the thick of things, but it wasn't annoyingly loud nor did we feel crowded. It took, longer than I would think it should, for our server to visit the table and pour our waters (which I could do without because it's not good water). Our server did explain to us that Old Glory is a scratch kitchen, which is really cool...because I don't think there's enough of them in Clarksville. With our drink order, we ordered some appetizers: Duck Fat Fries and Prime Rib Egg Rolls. The wait for the apps was good, and certainly understandable that it was on the (slightly) longer side due to the scratch kitchen rule. Both appetizers were terrific! The fries were crispy and never got soggy (not sure if that's because we ate them too fast, but it's still true). The egg rolls could have used a little more meat in them because they were heavy on the cheese, but who doesn't like a cheese bomb laced with some tasty prime rib? I wasn't gonna stop eating them! The couple we went with ordered the Tennessee Pulled Pork Tacos and the BBQ Nachos Appetizer (with Pulled Pork) as a meal. The one who ordered the Tennessee Pulled Pork Tacos really liked them, but he's kinda like Mikey...he'll eat anything. The one who ordered the BBQ Nachos with Pulled Pork was not happy with them. She said that the pork tasted pretty good, but overall it was a disappointment. I ordered the Bacon Burger with a side of the Bourbon Butter Mushrooms, my wife ordered the Oak Stave Smoked Brisket add fries/minus Charro Beans. I really liked the burger, it was cooked just right and was juicy to the last bite. The bourbon bacon on top was a delicious addition to the burger and just added to the flavor. My picture doesn't really do it justice, guess I'll have to go back. I did NOT care for the Bourbon Butter Mushrooms...I was expecting larger button mushrooms or maybe even some baby bellas cut in quarters, but these did not taste like fresh mushrooms, which is a big disappointment from a scratch kitchen. I know you can't scratch make mushrooms (unless you grow them) but you can use larger fresh mushrooms to hold the flavor of the butter and the bourbon. Won't get them again unless they make that change. My wife really liked her brisket...for a non-barbeque place, she said it was tasty. I stole a piece when she wasn't looking and it was good, not the best brisket I have ever had...but that's a tall order. My wife really like the slaw that came with the brisket, it was good, but different, but good. If that makes any sense. Overall, it was a good visit to the Old Glory Restaurant, we'll definitely be back for more. I just hope that it's as good as it is now (having just opened). Too many places in Clarksville lower their standards after about six months of being open. That's my truth and in today's world, you have to accept it. If you're looking for something new and exciting, give it a shot! I, for one, hope they keep doing good things and maybe add some lamb to the menu (since it's hard to find in Clarksville). Again, make your reservations and head on over to Old Glory for some of the best eats I've had in Clarksville in a while!

Old Glory Distillery Restaurant is located unsurprisingly inside the Old Glory Distillery at 451 Alfred Thun Road in Clarksville Tennessee near I-24 Exit 4. The restaurant is an excellent place to dine and offers a unique experience to enjoy. The restaurant is extremely spacious and open, offering views of the distillery and the outdoor area. The views of the distillery are fascinating to observe. The distillery offers tours and tastings for those that are inclined. Even if you don't drink hard liquor, I think you will find the distillery to be interesting and enjoyable. Everyone on the distillery side was very pleasant and friendly. While I highly recommend the distillery, I highly recommend the restaurant as well. If you haven't been, you will get vibes of the Mailroom and Dock 17. I loved how clean everything was the Old Glory Distillery Restaurant. The ceiling height was amazing and only enhanced the spacious feel. I found the food to be excellent with a unique presentation of familiar food fares. One note, I know that it is a restaurant inside a distillery. One should expect alcohol inspired dishes and sauces. There are gin onions and pickles, rum and bourbon bbq sauces, and even bourbon honey butter on the cinnamon rolls. I recognize the theme here, but every dish doesn't require a alcohol based ingredient. If every food item does, it should make sense to the dish and should be awesome. Something I found at the Old Glory Distillery Restaurant to be not the case. The service was excellent at the Old Glory Distillery Restaurant. I went during lunch and there were an abundant number of employees. The atmosphere and look of the restaurant were unlike any other restaurant in Clarksville. The food was familiar and unique at the same time. While I felt the food could have been better, I loved the variety of items on the menu. That coupled with the visual aspect of Old Glory Distillery Restaurant, I highly recommend a visit. Old Glory Distillery Restaurant is the type of establishment that people state they want in Clarksville. Go visit Old Glory Distillery Restaurant and support something unique and fantastic.

Just left and honestly really disappointed. I had come to this restaurant a few weeks ago for an event held by my workplace and the service and food were impeccable; however, we used the rented space upstairs, food was paid for by my company, etc. I had the prime rib egg rolls, duck fat fries, bbq burnt ends, grilled smoked salmon, and a salad during this event and I thought the food was great. Fast forward to tonight- I came for dinner this evening to celebrate my fiancé’s birthday and it was one of the most below average restaurant experiences both of us have had. Alex was our server, and while she was super nice and polite, she continually leaned onto our table whenever she checked in with us and was inches away from our face each time. Every interaction was uncomfortable and more check-ins does not equal better service. Not only that but a hold was placed on our food so our app and entree did not arrive at the same time. Alex made it seem like she would get each course out in a timely manner so I did not question it and went with the flow (I personally don’t care if all dishes arrive at once). Due to human error (which I understand from having personally worked in the restaurant biz), she did end up forgetting to push our entrees through. Nbd; however, this was another uncomfortable close-up visit from Alex informing us. I honestly would have preferred if she lied to us and used an excuse like ā€œwe’re busy tonightā€ and left it short and sweet. To make our anxiety and uncomfortableness worse, her manager/supervisor began helicoptering over our table when we genuinely did not mind that the food was late- again, it was my fiancĆ©s birthday and I just wanted to spend time with him, the food did not matter to me. Before OUR food arrived, a food runner had begun to drop us off the wrong order before our server Alex stopped him. Another guest this evening near a table next to us informed us that that was the third incident of the same food runner that evening. When our food finally did arrive it was genuinely unappetizing. Before I wrote this review I went to the website and saw this restaurant advertises ā€œmade-from-scratch-dishes.ā€ What we ate was far from that. My fiancĆ© ordered the BBQ chicken Mac and cheese and it looked and apparently tasted like a frozen microwave meal. There was hardly any chicken in the dish itself and the sprinkled cheese on top did not melt. I ordered the BBQ chicken quesadilla and I lost my appetite after 2-3 bites. I am honestly a health freak and processed foods freak me out. Both dishes tasted frozen. Due to our not so great experience, they offered us free dessert to-go (we also sampled a free chocolate cake slice before dinner arrived, which tasted like a stale brownie). We selected the giant cinnamon roll and were both excited to try it. When we got home and opened the box, the cinnamon roll was/is basically an over baked brick and neither of us have or plan on taking a bite. Very upset and disappointed that I recommended this restaurant so highly to him just for our experience to turn out this way. I know this is a new restaurant and there are processes still needing to be sorted out. But again as a paying customer, I regret coming here. I tipped Alex near 20% because I know how restaurant biz is but please get your staff, meals, and overall experience together. This is an amazing and beautiful building/space so I give 5 stars to that. I did enjoy the prime rib egg roll appetizer (however probably frozen as well), but unfortunately we will not be returning to this restaurant due to our...

We went on a late saturday afternoon 2:49pm. We were greeted asked if we wanted inside or outside. We did inside. We did not have reservations and had a party of 6. They sat us at a booth at first and we asked if we could change to a table. They willing accommodated our request. They gave us brunch menus and when our waitress came over we asked if they were still serving brunch. She said yes. It did take all of us a little bit to decided. My parents were with us and my mom's eye sight is not great so it takes her a few moments to read smaller print. After about 20 mins the waitress/server (jessica) comes back and tells us they are no longer serving brunch. So we had all finally found something to have to start all over again. Also one of the water glasses had visable pink lipstick all over it and i had to flag an employee to return that dirty cup. Which once brought to their attention they did. Then we finally ordered. My husband ordered a bacon old fashioned. It came with a big piece of bacon in it. Then we had to sit and wait about another 45 minutes plus for our food to come out. During that time we had no apologies for the wait or hardly any checks on how we were doing. Food finally came out and some of our food tasted dried out and maybe like it sat under a heat lamp for a little bit. My husband ordered another bacon old fashion and this one came out without the bacon in it. He then had to flagg the waitress and asked why no bacon and she said because they were done brunch they had no more bacon. We all thought but yet they have a bacon burger on the menu for lunch and dinner. So when our waitress finally gave us the bill my husband ask to talk to a manager. We just wanted to give them feedback in person. When we told the bar manager (Andy) about the brunch menus he was like well our system does not allow us to not ring up brunch menus anymore. We then said well you need to talk with your staff about handing out proper menus. He did appologize about the bacon old fashion and said he was the bar manager and that is a great thing to talk to him about and he also said he specifically told our waitress to go to the kitchen for bacon for the drink. So after we talked we paid for the meal in full. My dad wanted to treat my family of 4 out and so he paid and wanted a receipt. Well that became another hassel. We had to hunt our waitress down again. We asked another waitress and she said she would see what she could do. Then my dad got up and went to the bar and asked the bar tender if he could get our reciept. Then they had to look for our waitress and she came out after my dad was standing at the bar for about 5 mins. My husband and I have been here before and the first time we had great service. We were just highly disappointed about the service and the whole experience. The manager only appologized about the bacon in the old fashionand. We feel like the rest of our points of view were not accounted for. I'm unsure if we will return. I would like to see the service improve and hope that manager takes the feed back. We would love to see this place...
