TLDR: If you want ALOT of food for cheap and not at all concerned about its quality then this is the place for you.
Just moved into the area recently and saw the great reviews. (When I move, I first scope out my Mexican restaurants near me in order to have my go to place.)
My wife and I ordered our drinks one of which was a Sprite with no syrup only carbonated water. Oh well .5 a star reduction no biggie.
We then proceeded to order the choriqueso which honestly in and of itself wasn't bad I would give it alone a decent score. But when Im trying a new place we always get an order of Fajitas. This is my benchmark. Most Mexican places this is where you find the real "soul" of the restaurant. Let me tell you it was horrid.
First no sizzle as it came to my table. I knew they hadn't grilled it long enough before I had laid eyes on it. It was a massive amount of heaping warm and not seasoned fajitas. The meat was stringy and bland also scarcely cool. The "Steak" looked like honest to god dog food. The veggies were meh nothing to write home about and not very flavorful. You could tell these were cheap veggies as they didn't bring much color to the Fajitas. They looked as drab as the meat. The same can be said for the guac and lettuce on the side as well. The beans had no consistency they were literal slop with very little bean flavor. I had to request hot sauce and drown the fajitas just to get flavor into the meal.
My final analysis this was one of the worst I have had. Many times, these places tend to be very close to one another in their approach to Mexican cuisine. But I think this place wants you to drink and eat cheap tacos and food in mass. They definitely push the cheap/quantity style of food. I will not be revisiting. On to the next.
PS: God, I hope I don't get sick. Farted all...
Read morePablo's Mexican Restaurant is a great new choice for Authentic Mexican in Clarksville, offering a full bar, daily specials, group accommodations, and Authentic Mexican Cuisine.
Pablo's offers a full-size bar with Flat Screen TVs, Happy Hour Specials, and Great Cocktails at affordable prices. Alongside the bar, the dining area offers comfortable seating, and a simple, contemporary atmosphere (Although they are still in the process of decorating).
On the other hand, the food quality is excellent; and the fast, friendly service makes this a great choice for lunch. If you don't have time to sit down and eat lunch at the restaurant, Pablo's offers takeout over the phone, so you can order in advance and pick up later.
Daily/Weekly Lunch, Dinner, and Happy Hour Specials make great food even better by saving you more. Even without the specials, the regular-priced menu items are easy on the wallet.
Pablo's also offers accommodations for group gatherings. The rear dining room offers spacious seating with a great view of Liberty Park and the Cumberland River.
Overall, I really enjoyed my visit to Pablo's Mexican Restaurant, and I would definitely recommend this...
Read moreWe have driven by Pablo's going to our regular haunts for as long as they have been open. We took a stab at something new tonight and were impressed. We did an online order for pick up, which can be a risk on a good day with any restaurant. I arrived a couple of minutes early, and the man at the reception counter was friendly. The scheduled order completion time was between 6:05 and 6:10. They walked out with the food at 6:06. A great start. Any pickup is a little cold, so there wasn't much exchange between us. I got a polite thank you as I took my order and headed home.
The food was packaged well. Nothing spilled, and nothing was soggy. As much as a to-go order could be, there was a nice presentation.
The food was great. We had Tacos Carne Asada and Tacos al Pastor, along with choriqueso. The flavors were deep and authentic. The portions were perfect, and we were happy. The only question I had was about the hotdogs in the beans...I've never had that in Mexican food. (We had a chuckle about it, but it didn't affect our experience.)
I'll give them a try in-store next. It isn't often that I would recommend carry-out from any restaurant, but they did well. Give...
