Sonic Drive-In — Restaurant in Clarksville

I had an amazing time working here, other than my experience with the GM Rick. He is extremely disrespectful to his employees but very outgoing to customers, so I’m not surprised that he’s gotten away with this behavior for so long. Ultimately I lost my job to the fact that I asked to be 30min-1hr late on the account that I was running a fever, and even offered to run to the doctor and get a check up to make sure I was okay for my shift. He told me if I didn’t come in on my scheduled time then I was fired. This is just one example of this grown man’s power trip over his employees. I had to stay after school for financial aid reasons, to which he demanded a note of some sort otherwise I was fired. I have worked with sonic since 2020 and have seen my share of adults who work in fast food just to have power trips over students and minors, and Rick is one of them. I saw this man almost have to be pulled back into the building by his employees after a customer was causing a scene, challenging the man to get out of his car, therefore putting his minor employee whom was also in the parking lot in danger. I don’t really leave reviews a lot but I think everyone needs to know how great the staff is here. We stop by at least one day a week to let my daughter get a biscuit on the way to school. She looks forward to it so much. Not because of the biscuits, but because she wants to go see her friend Mr. Rick. He is such a great person and always welcomes us with a smiling face and leaves my daughter with words of advice and usually a small cup of ice cream as well! He told her this morning, “Stay happy and don’t let anybody ruin your day!” To the management or owner of this Sonic, don’t ever let this man get away. It’s hard to find employees like Mr. Rick. This is the best Sonic in town (sorry Dover Road, you rock, too!) Rick and the crew are always friendly and I appreciate their commitment to good customer service. Yesterday, I ordered mozz sticks with marinara sauce. I got French toast sticks...with marinara sauce! LOLOLOLOL! If this had been any other place, I probably would have been mad, but because of their stellar customer service, all I could do is laugh. Today, I went back to get my mozz sticks and jokingly give them a hard time about their mistake. They comped my food! Totally unexpected and very appreciated. I wish more places were as friendly as this...
