El Bracero of Clarksville (Madison Street) — Restaurant in Clarksville

Was a nice little place. The chips and salsa had good texture and flavor. I ordered the carne assade tacos and my wife had a build your own combo with a tamale, empanada, and chalupa. She recieved a chimichanga instead of the chalupa and when we asked the waitress she seemed a bit confused when we tried to explain a couple times so we just went with it. Her refried beans resembled pureed pumpkin more than beans (they were orange) and had an odd flavor the she didn't like. The tamale was moist and fresh but could have used a bit more flavor. The empanada had raisins in the meat mixture which provided an unexpected sweetness to it. The chimi was ok. My steak tacos were good. The meat was cooked well with nice season and I substituted flour fir corn tortillas. Mine came with churro beans that had nice flavor but a bit unussual with sliced hotdogs in them. The rice was really good. It was fluffy and had good flavor. For those of you who like a little heat you must try the bang bang salsa that comes with it. It comes on light at the start but builds as it works on your taste buds and with the more you eat. Overall was an enjoyable experience and we will probably visit again. Hoping next time to to try the chalupa as well as the wet burrito. Saw one of them come out to the table next to us....

Myself and a group of 8 showed up at the restaurant to dine in. Everyone ordered their food at the same time. I was the only one that did not receive my food. Once everyone was done some people were already leaving the server walked up and asked where my food was to where I responded I’m not sure I ordered I just have not received it he then proceeds to make a nervous face and walks to the kitchen. He went back and made it to go and was expecting me to pay for my food even though I was waiting 40+ minutes. He mentioned that he had forgotten to put my order in but put it to go and I was still expected to pay for my food. I told him I would not pay for my food considering that not only was it cold but I had spent the last 40 minutes waiting while everyone else ate. He proceeded to snatch the food from my hands and walks to the back. I walked up to his manager and explained the situation and how unprofessional it was, the manager did not believe me, it took my friend coming up to confirm before they even attempted to returning me my food. He offered to make a new order and when I arrived home after eating it I had food poisoning for 2 days. I will never return to this...

I will say the staff was friendly. I had never been here before tonight and will never go again.....I was willing to try bc it was close to where we were at in town and Mexican food is never bad and is always huge portions for sharing or leftovers.... I called in a chimi cheesecake and small cheese dip to take home, 40 mins away......me and my husband were going to split the cheesecake. Unfortunately it was so small compared to other Mexican restaurants, we got 3 bites a piece. It was literally half the size of other places but around the same price. when you decide to have dessert for dinner that's disappointing. On top of it being so small, when I called to see if they had what I was looking for and I asked ingredient by ingredient if the things I wanted were on it and of course they said yes to every single one. which was not true.....if they would have took the time to listen and look at the menu if they weren't for sure to verify and told me correctly I would have never ordered in the beginning...it was really tough to cut like other places and was pretty flavorless as well....I was extremely unsatisfied and bc I live so far out it wasn't worth the drive back...
