This was my third delivery order from Sora. The food has never been very good but, given all of the glowing reviews, I thought maybe ordering at an off time on a Saturday would make a difference.
I couldn't have been more wrong.
What I should have done instead of ordering from Sora, was just saved my palate the insult and throw my $58 in the trash, because that's where most of the food went.
On this occasion, I ordered crab Rangoon and accidentally ordered two orders of pad Thai but didn't realize until I had completed the transaction. No big deal. I figured I'd just freeze the second order of pad Thai and have it at another time.
The order arrived promptly. The delivery person was professional and very pleasant.
The food? Absolute, disgusting dreck.
Sora isn't trying at all. Those who give such high marks clearly have never eaten good Americanized Asian food.
The crab Rangoon was overcooked and the won ton was far too large for the tiny amount of filling that was provided. I tried my best to chew through it, but ended up throwing out all but the part that had filling.
The order of Rangoon came with a bucket full of diabetes instead of dipping sauce. You know the kind I'm talking about: that viscous, red dye #4 and high fructose corn syrup dipping sauce that restaurants use when they don't GAF about their food quality. Yep. That one. Into the trash it went also.
The pad Thai was equally sad; comprised of overcooked, glutenous noodles that had clearly been prepared far ahead of time were topped with a sauce that tasted like it came straight out of a bottle of pad Thai sauce from Kroger. It was sugary. That's all. No garlic, no umami flavors from fish sauce and dried shrimp, no tamarind, no chili, no soy. For all I know, it was made from that same execrable red goo that was sent along with the crab Rangoon.
To make matters worse, my two orders were made together in one pan, half of which was dumped into one container while the other half was dumped into another. The second order had no peanuts, no scallions, and no sprouts.
Seriously? Who does something so idiotic?
I picked through both orders, ate the shrimp (also overcooked) and the few other toppings and threw the sticky mess of noodles away.

I have recently posted in different forums (weeks ago) ‘does anyone have a suggestions for authentic Asian cuisine? I’m picky because I’ve lived in major hubs in the USA and have also traveled abroad.’
I did not get a response. Fast forward to today, I was driving and randomly looked over and saw Sora, so I pulled over.
I entered into the restaurant with the most beautiful people! So kind, so welcoming! I was skeptical but not disappointed!
I was overwhelmed by their menu because there was so much to choose from in an awesome way. So much diversity!
So, I decided to sit down at the bar and look over the menu while I decided what I wanted for take out. I also wanted to order appetizers while I was deciding on my take out meal.
While I was seated there, a young girl who was clearly a part of this family owned business, she recommended crab ragoons. Yikes. I was zeroed in on spring rolls but she said the crab Rangoons were homemade.
That was a done deal for me! Homemade and a family owed business? I was all in. Sure enough, she was so right with her recommendation and HANDS DOWN the best crab ragoons I’ve had since Boston and NY.
While I was enjoying the amazing appetizers (miso soup and CR’s) I talked to so many of the staff and I learned about their own travels and where they are all from and I truly felt like I was experiencing authentic Asian kindness and customer service and food.
I have not yet enjoyed the Green Tai Curry that I ordered as spicy as I could get, but I know I’ll love it because I wasn’t let down on the apps and service. (I was full from the appetizers).
I strongly recommend the food, the service, the very sweet...
Read moreI ordered delivery through their website because it said that was their preferred method. I think it's good practice to tip ahead of time and I usually do 20%. Especially if I'm ordering kind of late or close to closing time. My miso soup was so hot I could have burned my tongue. You can always tell when a restaurant really cares about the quality of their food. All of my food was absolutely delicious. They call it eight angels for a reason. If you like boba tea and want something that isn't too sweet get the taro. It was my first time trying it and I will probably order two next time. I usually get black tea or Thai tea and I didn't see it so I thought I'd try the taro. I want more. Definitely my new favorite. And it's purple which is kind of cool. The prices are fair and meals are big enough to share if you're on a budget especially if you want to get sides. What I got was considered mild and it definitely had a kick so if you like spice don't be scared to get mild. Highly recommend if you want some Asian cuisine but are looking for something a little bit different or want some more authentic Thai options. Their menu also has a lot of Chinese, Japanese and even some Americanized options. Good for families and picky eaters. I will definitely be ordering from here again. I'm a really picky person. I know when things are done well and I know what I like. I was...
