I was really excited to try this place; based on the reviews and it seemed like some of the best sushi and ramen in the city. Plus they had a vegan ramen option I was happy to try. Overall service and atmosphere were good. The time it took for my food to come out was a little longer than most other sushi restaurants I’ve been to but it wasn’t horrible. However the most disappointing thing about my experience was the food quality. Both the sushi roll and the vegan ramen were bland with no flavoring and worst of all the ingredients looked and tasted like they were frozen before cooked. The mushrooms were extremely rubbery and difficult to chew and none of the ingredients tasted fresh. My server insisted that everything had been made fresh to order but I struggled to reconcile that with what I was actually tasting. I ate the sushi because I was hungry but I couldn’t get through the ramen. The server comped me for it but I would likely never visit again-especially since those are the only two options on the menu that fit my dietary restrictions. My bill came out to $19 for one vegetable role of sushi and a small sake. In my opinion, the quality of the food (at least what I ordered), does not...

First off, our server was great! Ethan was respectful, knowledgeable and personable. He was literally the perfect server and that is as important as the food for my husband. The food. ....was Amazing! I had the Philadelphia roll which was the best I've had and the cheese delights (cream cheese ragoons) were named appropriately. They were huge and that fluffy, crispy outside did it all! One bite and the creamy delicious filling was all that too and so much that there was enough to fill each bite along with that crispy goodness. It's honestly enough to fill you up without anything else! I was so in awe that I can't remember what my husband's entry was but he raved about it so it must have been good and he got the vegetable roll which he said had so many flavors, every bite was better and better. We definitely give them and Ethan 2 👍🏼👍🏼and recommend highly! Ethan also deserves to be acknowledged with his awesome self. Service like that is scarce. They...

We really wanted to like this place! The reviews looked so promising, but we were honestly kind of disappointed. The crab wontons were battered and deep fried and very soggy. I did not like that it was battered, it was too heavy and too much. The ocean fried rice was very lackluster, tried the tropical paradise roll, and little mermaid roll which were both just kind of... meh. The Phoenix roll was okay, I would give that one item a 3/5. We also tried the don katsu, which was also overly sauced and the chicken tasted like kfc chicken? It was also soggy and didn’t seem to be flavored appropriately. The pork buns were also a solid 3/5, not bad by any means, but nothing that blew us away. Tried to get a variety of items to suss out the restaurant but I don’t think we’ll be back. It was very cute and the staff was very friendly and helpful! But for what we paid it was unfortunately a...

This review is for a take out order. My friend and I got Tonkatsu black ramen and she said it was good, but the order wasn't correct. I got the xo fried rice w veggies. There wasn't a ton of flavor, I had to add a few hot sauces to it. It also would have been better if they included the soy sauce they asked if we wanted. ? There wasn't really any veggies in it either, broccoli, shelled edamame, cashews, raisins, idk it was lacking sustenance. would have been a great addition. Also no chopsticks, napkins, or a way to mix the ramen. As an improvement, maybe you could get the plastic bowls with lids and put the toppings in there, and the broth on the side. Thats what every other ramen take-out does. I also ordered at like 830 on a Saturday and maybe that's a bad time for take out ? Not sure what happened. I would dine in and try it again tho.

The food is not worth the price. It's pretty food. The dragon roll was arranged to look like a dragon breathing fire. It was just okay tasting. The two people I was with had soup noodle bowls. Both were so bad, neither finished the soup and turned down to go bowls for them. I had curry chicken. A blob of white rice seated next to a puddle of brown gravy with large chunks of onions mixed in. A deep fried breaded chicken pattie was cut into strips and floated on the gravy. The gyōza was good. The pork belly steamed roll was not. We had looked forward to the cookie dough wonton. There were three of them served with three small scoops of vanilla ice cream. Not good vanilla bean ice cream. The five dollar a gallon plastic bucket type. The young waiter was very sweet. Shame the food wasn't up to the challenge.

Cockroach! Have loved Kohanna for years - so I'm sad to have to share this, and had it been handled differently I wouldn't be posting this review. Took my son to have lunch like we have done so many times. On the wall next to us was a large cockroach. We flagged the server, he grabbed a napkin and dispatched the unwanted guest. Just being curious, I turned on my phones flashlight and looked under the table - and I wish I hadn't. I'll spare everyone that picture. We told the server who assured us they would address the issues. Folks - the management didn't stop over to discuss this, and when I approached they had scurried away. Things happen, but service concerns should NEVER be ignored. It's hard enough to win over loyal clients. They just lost one. Shame on you Kohanna.
