These folks serve delicious food.
Unfortunately, they do not bother replying to comments sent via their Facebook page nor their website "Contact Us" link. Their excuse is that they are too busy. Oh well....
That being said, their food, and their service was EXCELLENT. I just wish that their red sauce had actual flavor.
My evaluation from 6/22/25: Yesterday evening, my family & I, along with a friend, ate dinner at Cafe Terra.
It was EXCELLENT!
I could not have asked for more attentive service.
As to the food....
It was all attractively plated.
I had the grilled chicken thighs (VERY moist & flavorful). My wife and son had lamb, which I despise (oh well!). She said her lamb was very moist & perfectly cooked.
The other members in our party had beef & lamb dishes, along with a couple side dishes. The Baba Ghanoush was perfect....nicely smoky, creamy, slightly tart. My son had never tried it before, and he enjoyed it.
The pita bread was served warm, toasted, yet "pillowy", fluffy & soft.
One request that I'd ask you to please consider....
The "red sauce" for pita bread dipping was BLAND.
While it was certainly red (from annatto seed, tomato, or dried mild chilis, I don't know), it had absolutely no flavor. Your website described it as "Rich, tangy tomato-based dipping sauce infused with herbs."
Nope.
It was oily, bland, without any real flavor...unless you dug out the minced ?garlic/onion? from the bottom of the serving dish. That had some flavor.
I am NOT trying to be a hateful idiot customer, but wanted to give some honest feedback regarding the red dipping sauce. The lack of flavor was the consensus of all five of us at the table yesterday evening.
I'm not sure if you use olive oil as a base, or a neutral grapeseed or vegetable oil. It didn't even have any olive oil flavor.
Perhaps adding some vinegar (& lecithin to help it mix in with the oil), or some sumac-containing red za'atar seasoning would make it more tart/tangy.
In any case, my wife and I will certainly be back. It was difficult to decide WHAT to order, given the wide...
Read moreCafe Terra is a well hidden gem, and I only stumbled in after visiting another shop in the plaza. Visited yesterday for the first time, and I was pleasantly shocked and surprised especially since I ordered my food to go. I’ve tried several Mediterranean restaurants between Dayton and Cincinnati and this by far might be my new favorite place. The herbs taste fresh as if they have a secret garden in the kitchen; in the Tzatziki I could taste the fresh dill and mint and the oil had fresh rosemary, I believe. I ordered the Chicken Sautée Kebap which the chicken wasn’t directly seasoned but you could taste the infusion from the vegetables it was cooked with. I opted for extra salad instead of rice and I’m so happy I did; the Greek salad was heavily loaded with toppings of tomato, onion, feta, and it had a small stuffed grape leaf the Greek dressing was absolutely delicious! Lastly, I’m not sure what’s so different about their baklava but it was amazing, it fell apart a little because it was softer than usual but I think that could be what made it so good. I got to a point in my meal when I started questioning if the food was good or if I was extremely hungry and decided to save some for leftovers to determine if I was I hyping the food up; I had my leftovers for breakfast and it was better than the night before. The lady that took my order seemed very nice and pleasant and was helpful after I told her it was my first time visiting.I will definitely visit again and will recommend others to...
Read moreVisited this restaurant Friday evening food was great. But the wait staff was kind of off. We were seated around 7:40p.m. made our order and our waiter asked if we really wanted to order bake fish. My husband said yes and asked the waiter why he didn't want us to order the fish. Waiter responded again are you sure because the fish will take a while to cook. The waiter was more concerned in going home vs. Wanting us to order the food we wanted. To make matters worse another couple was seated next to us who also had the same waiter. I over heard him tell the couple they needed to hurry up and order because the kitchen was going to close. The time I notice was a little after 8.pm. We felt pressured to hurry our dining experience until the owner came and reassured us to sit back relax and enjoy our food and drink. We felt more at ease and was able to really enjoy ourselves last night thanks to the owner. Owner also blessed us with a delicious dessert to go. In my opinion the wait staff need to build relationships with customers and make customers feel relax. That would make customers want to come back and support the restaurant vs. Rushing customers to eat because they are...
