El Patron has quickly become my favorite dining spot in Clayton after multiple visits, each time leaving me more impressed. Not only does the food steal the show with its sumptuous flavors and authentic Mexican touch, but the drinks are also crafted to perfection, truly elevating the dining experience.

I've dabbled with various items on the menu and each has been a delicious exploration of culinary excellence. Whether it's the zest of the tacos or the richness of their specialty entrees, satisfaction is guaranteed.

Ordered takeout: an order of queso tacos de birria. I was first disappointed by the amount of cilantro and onion. I should have taken a pic, but there was barely a pinch of cilantro and onion in my tray. The onion also seemed a bit old (watery, a bit sticky looking). The birria itself was gummy and fatty at first glance. I gave it a chance and dunked it in the consommé, I could only get through two tacos because I started feeling sick. Hours later, I still have the taste of meat in my mouth. In Spanish we would say it tasted like chuquilla (improperly cleaned meat).

There are better queso tacos out there, I would not recommend this place, even if you are looking for...

I’ve eaten here twice now and it’s going to be one of my favorite places. I have had two different fish dishes and they were amazing. The chef really knows how to cook fish perfectly! Others with me all loved their food too.

I appreciate the atmosphere and that the background noise, music etc was low enough you could talk and be heard but not so low it would feel like you were broadcasting your conversations to the tables around you. (We were there later in the afternoon so it could be different during a lunch or dinner rush.)
