This was my store till yesterday. I have never been so humiliated in my life. As a neighbor from Clayton and a Veteran that served this Country I will not recommend anyone to go to this store. I have been raising my grand baby for the past 3 years. I always go to this store for her WIC checks. And the store manager and the cashier denied me the right to purchase my 3 years old baby's food yesterday afternoon. I cried all the way home, as I have never been treated like a thief before in my life! I signed the 2 WIC checks I was going to use, right before I got to the register while I was waiting for the costumer in front on me. And the young cashier told me she could not accept my checks because they were signed. I completely understand, but I had all my other checks without being signed. And my ID, they still denied me the right to purchase food. This is serious, because these is little kids food we are talking about. And as a single mom and a grandma, I really need the help that WIC provides for me. Not only the way they treated me was humiliated, was completely unprofessional. I went to lowes food down the street on 70 and had no problems. My daughter is an unfit mother and that is the reason why I have custody of the grand baby. I was told is the law, not to accept the checks. Well they do not know the law, because as a grandparent you can use WIC checks on behalf of your grandchildren. The Manager was completely lost and just went by was the cashier said, she was probably 16 to 18 and did not know her job as well as the manager of the store, he went to another cashier to ask her, because he did not know what he was doing. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!! I rather drive a little more and go to the other Food Lion on 42 or Lowes Food or Walmart. They need to hire better employees.
Will never go back to this Food Lion again the manager is not a people person and obviously has no customer service experience. I would not steal WIC checks and go to the grocery store. But like I said, these people have no human touch, is the store closer to me, but I will never go...
Read moreI have no idea how the ratings are this high because after 3 years of living next to this grocery store Iâm done. This is the fifth time in a row the produce in my pickup order has been rotten on arrival. To be clear, I donât just mean itâs shriveled or poor quality although thatâs a given here too. I mean my cucumbers were COVERED in white fuzzy mold visible through the packaging. Previously my tomatoes have been growing green mold so Iâve stopped buying them entirely. This time I was also given a cabbage instead of lettuce, which was annoying- I canât use a cabbage for my recipe! It wasnât even marked as a substitute (I had filled out my substitutions with a different lettuce, but it doesnât even matter because they marked the iceberg lettuce as âfound.â It wasnât even a case of a poor substitution.)
In addition, when I came to pick up my food this was the second time in a row the phones were completely down so I couldnât even call to say I was there for pickup. My husband went in to tell them we needed our groceries and they couldnât find our order even though it was under the correct name; it had been scanned out well before we arrived for some reason.
The other frustrating thing is that I selected a 4-5pm pickup window for when I was done with my other errands. They finished it early- fine- and then texted me I had to be there within an hour, by 4:20. I specifically picked the time I did so I would have until 5 to get there, and instead I had to race to get my stuff. This never used to be the case and I have no idea why it is now.
As someone who canât easily do my own shopping due to a disability, it is really infuriating that the entire pickup process is this ridiculous from start to end. At this point Iâm driving the extra 20 minutes to go somewhere else, which is a shame considering I would really like to just go to the place 4 minutes...
Read moreThey never have their hot bar stocked or operational. All the other locations have fresh food out from the morning until about 8pm. They also never have fresh mozzarella sticks and their food is over cooked and itâs mind boggling how the other locations literally down the road have so much more and the food is fresh. Why is your mozzarella sticks bricks? Why the taste not the same when itâs literally the same product next door? In addition this location is run down and pretty ghetto. Other locations are nicer and have more up to date products and also seem to have better deals and food is not out of stock. Their produce is disgusting. Prices are higher than the food lion down the street which makes me wonder if this is not a corporate location or actual chain. The workers are wellâŚjust come visit for your self. I will say this location at least has the small shopping carts. Their check out systems are complete garbage and there is not enough so there is always a line and workers donât pay attention at all. This location is literally the busiest in Clayton and I canât for the life of of me figure out why it wasnât remodeled or made their showroom location compared to the one down the street. Do better and for the love of God pay attention to your competitors and keep up with what customers want and shop for bc your products are literally dollar tree level trash. Also close at 12 or 1. Thatâs all. To be honest just bulldoze this place to the ground. The whole...
