Came here today for the first time with a hankering for a good sandwich--Protzels did not disappoint. I got the pastrami rueben, he got the corned beef pastrami. Both were served warm, perfectly toasted, and with a pickle spear on the side. Both had a good balance of meat/sauerkraut/sauce/Swiss, so you'd get a little of everything in each bite

Pastrami was a little stringy, but absolutely delicious.

The corned beef was out of this world--flavorful, cut thin, but not paper thin.

Got matzo ball soup and a bagful of knishes to take home for dinner--the soup was wonderfully chicken-y with light, fluffy matzo.

The knishes were also very tasty, the clear winner was the New York (corned beef + pastrami), followed by the brisket. The buckwheat was good, but maybe a bit of an...

My officemate and I wanted to try something new for lunch. We found this site via google and headed over. It was lunch time so we figured it might take a bit - but it didn't. First clue to what was coming was availability of a parking space right in front. We had a rather nice gentleman explain the menu and then took our order. My sandwich and bottled soda ran $8.25. My co-workers ran $12.10! That was clue number two. I had a (small) Jeff Drew's Special on wheat. I could not taste anything but the bread. There was no flavor in the meat. My co-worker had a (regular) Corn Beef Reuben and had the same experience. Last clue. The service was good, the place was relatively clean but the food left us unimpressed. No...

This deli is best suited for individuals or pairs, as the seating arrangements are limited and not designed for larger groups. When visiting with a group of five, we found ourselves occupying nearly the entire space, which made for an awkward and less private dining experience. Additionally, the food did not meet expectations. The beef knish was noticeably dry, and my sandwich lacked the extra add-ons I had paid for. Furthermore, the portion of meat was quite small considering the premium pricing typical of a specialty deli (I got the Carney Sandwich). While the establishment may work well for a quick bite for one or two people, it may not be the best option for those seeking a more accommodating space or a...

One of my favorite delis, and I've been to my fair share of NYC and Chicago delis. Like most good delis, it's nothing fancy but makes you feel like you're in your grandma's kitchen with family pictures, boxes of matzo ball soup, and jars of pickles all about. I always get a corned beef sandwich on rye with Russian dressing but you can't go wrong with whatever you order here. Most of the sides are made in house including knishes, coleslaw, potato salad, etc. Be wary that the prices are a bit on the high side but it's completely worth it.

Protzel’s Deli in St. Louis is a gem! I had the turkey Reuben, and it was perfect. The bread was perfectly crisp, the turkey was moist, and the balance of meat, sauerkraut, and dressing was spot-on. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, making it a great spot for a casual meal. I loved it so much I grabbed a T-shirt on my way out. Highly recommend this deli if you’re in the area!

Amazing to visit a proper Jewish deli. Great selection of kosher items. Chopped liver was awesome, Not to sweet. Lox were beautiful, tender but with enough bite to stay on the bagel. Can't wait to get home and try the rest of the treats we bought. Back after 4 months and it's as great as ever. Staff is super friendly and I live to see their interactions with this regulars
