Unfortunately, our stay was not the best I’ve experienced at a Marriott Bonvoy property and not what I would expect from a Le’ Meridian Hotel.
The initial experience was the first indicator. Upon arrival, I was pleased to hear that as a Titanium Elite loyal customer, I had received a room upgrade; however, that quickly turned to a disappointing and uncomfortable stay. Upon arriving in my room (1227), we discovered the room has a very small bathroom (50”x30” or 50”x50” if you include the shower stall), and only one robe. As we planned to head to the pool, I called the front desk to ask for another robe and was assured they would send on right up --- a requested that was not fulfilled for the remainder of the day, and not until I went to the front desk the following day to address.
The room itself was uncomfortable. As mentioned, the bathroom was entirely unsatisfactory. In addition to being very small, there was no counter space or shelving to place toiletry items, unless Marriott expects guests to use the toilet seat as a countertop. The lamp placed on a end table adjacent to the sofa sleeper was not only unplugged with the cord hanging over the shade, but there was not even an outlet to plug into (unless your plan was to unplug the mini-fridge adjacent to the lamp). The small reading light next to the bed was inoperable, which is, apparently why it was wrapped around the larger bed light.
The worst; however, was that the room was next to the ice maker! I’m not sure what kind of “upgraded” room is next to the elevators and ice maker, but this was totally unacceptable for any room! Although we didn’t discover this disturbance until nighttime, and then thinking the noise might be from the HVAC system, we soon learned the ice machine was very loud as it cycled throughout the night. While not as noticeable during the day – at night it is unacceptable!
In short, the stay was unpleasant and not an experience I would recommend to others. There are nice hotels and better values in the area, even at other...
Read moreNice hotel but definitely some problems here. I came here because of work and spent the night on 4/12. The beds looked like someone had slept in them, and housekeeping just spread the bed up. I was tired and didn’t feel like going back downstairs change rooms etc. I got thru it.
The following morning the Night Mgr James was there and I told him what happened and showed pics I took. He told me he would give me Bon Boy points for the inconvenience and would def look into what happened b/c housekeeping is usually on the ball. He said in order to give me points, I had to have a CC on file. I gave him my AMEX.
The following day charges for my room for $113.31, a charge of $49, and a charge of $1 hit my card. I immediately sent James an email because he sent it to me to send the room pics.
I waited until TUESDAY 4/16 and called the hotel directly. I explained to Victoria what happened. She kept saying, “I’ll print it off and give it to him, and he will take care of it.” I simply asked, “Who is he? Who are you referring to?” Victoria says, “Excuse you?!” I repeated my questions and her already bad attitude bottoms out! I ask for the corporate number, she says she doesn’t know it. I see this is going nowhere fast and said goodbye.
I Google the customer service number and get in touch with a Supervisor named Stephanie. She says she created a ticket. I’m not sure. I don’t expect any response because honestly no one appears to have cared about my issue but Stephanie.
I’m going to alert my company about these unauthorized charges that I was told would take 7-10 BUSINESS DAYS to resolve although my company paid for my room. I don’t know what SCAM they have going on at this hotel, but I wouldn’t trust these folks with my CC. I have alerted my CC in case any other charges appear. I suggest not coming here. It’s just not...
Read moreThis review is for the Au Soliel Happy hour. You need to buy tickets on Event Brite. $15 for thursdays and $20 for Fridays. They will charge you additional fees so it ended up being over $25 a person.
The venue: When you arrive in the lobby, take the elevator to the third floor. There was a staff member waiting for us and gave us the full run down. Plenty of seating and towels. They have water coolers and a small bar. We found a few large lounge beds in the corner and set up a space for our party of 8.
There is a bathroom with a shower but it’s very small.
We had table side service right away but this is where it all went down hill. Placed our orders around 6:30 and headed to the pool. Around 6:50 only half our group got their drinks. By 7 we started seeing food coming out so we went back to the table. The rest of our party had to go inside to the bar to get their drinks. When checking the food that is brought out in paper bags, some people only had half their order. The people who did get food were disappointed. Wrap sandwich had old cheese that had gone hard and chicken that was still frozen. Chicken Quesadilla tasted like a children’s menu item with no side included and cost $25 after tax and mandatory service charge.
We ordered a cooler of drinks that took 45 mins to prepare and we again had to go get it ourselves.
The staff was clearly understaffed as they had security helping bring drinks to tables. Food was by far the worst and would highly recommend eating anywhere else.
The pool itself was great. I like that it wasn’t overcrowded and they had a live DJ.
Also everything ends promptly at 8pm. DJ turned music off, staff started gathering trash, it was obvious they wanted us...
