Scooter's Coffee — Restaurant in Clayton

Went through the drive thru. I've never been to Scooters before. I don't like coffee, so I ordered a strawberry lime quencher with black tea. It was not good at all. I pulled over to the side to read the ingredients because it tasted like coffee and there was coffee extract in it. It was clearly my fault, I didn't realize it. I went back around the driveway and nicely told them that this was my first time there and I didn't realize that there was coffee extract in the drink and asked for something else. The worker told me coffee extract does not taste like coffee it just means there is caffeine from coffee in there. She called someone over and that person said the same thing it just means caffeine there is not coffee in there. I don't know why I had to keep telling them it tasted like coffee, and they insisted it didn't. This was a nice exchange though. Both workers and I stayed very polite and civil to one another, that's why I gave them 2 stars, but not for insisting on a taste that they said wasn't there. They gladly made me another drink, a citrus green tea, and it still had that coffee taste to it. Rather than drive around, I just threw it out when I got home. Coffee extract taste like coffee, just like vanilla extract tastes like vanilla and mint extract taste like mint. So I usually go to the Smithfield location but I was doing a drop off and needed my morning coffee. I went in the drive through line and asked for a medium iced s'mores drink with almond milk and no whipped, she asked me to repeat it. Once I repeated it the young lady(blue hair) said it back to me and it was wrong so I told her again this time a little slower. I get to the window I pay and leave a $2 tip. I get my drink and pull off at the light I realize it had whip cream so I turn around. Once I pull up to the window I told her "I asked for no wipp", the young chick with one pony tail (blonde hair braided back towards mid back) turns to the I guess manager(long blonde hair two braids going back) on duty and says "I HATE PEOPLE LIKE THAT". So boom I give them the drink I wait 5 seconds I hear her play with the ice and hand me the same cup back which I didn't realize until i noticed the same straw inside so I open the lid and ask her " hey did you just take the whip off" then proceed to ask for my money back. The same young lady in the back huffs and puffs and says "OH GOD".. So after the manage on duty gives my money back I tell her to inform the other young lady that she was able to be heard and that it's messed up they can't respect others dietary restrictions... I wish I could have took my tip back because the three ladies were super rude.. No one ever Apologized about...

Scooter's Coffee in Clayton has quickly become my favorite spot for a quick and delicious pick-me-up! As someone who frequents coffee shops, I have to say that their Peanut Butter Power Blender is absolutely amazing. It's the perfect blend of rich, creamy peanut butter with just the right amount of sweetness and that extra energy boost I need. It's become my go-to drink every time I visit, and I can’t recommend it enough!

Another highlight of this location is the excellent staff. Every time I roll up to the drive-thru, I'm greeted with smiles and exceptional service. The team here is super friendly, quick, and efficient, which makes the experience even better. Even though it’s drive-thru only, I never feel rushed, and they always take the time to make sure my order is perfect.
