Let's say you want a nacho platter. Y'know, nachos with meat, tomatoes, cheese and beans on top. So you go to this dump in a bad neighborhood and order a nacho platter.

What do you get?

Very stale nachos mixed with not-so-stale nachos topped with obviously several week-old tomatoes, and steak with all sorts of terrible gristle. Horrid parts of the steak are like shoe leather; extremely hard to chew and tasteless.

So what happens when you want pork quesedillas with beans and rice for a side? You don't get beans. You also don't get rice. Instead, you get a half-assed excuse for mexican cuisine.

The place is rancid and very dirty, you can't see much of the kitchen, but let me tell you; I'll bet that there are several health code violations there. Just by the mere glimpse of what I've seen back there, it looks like a total hole. Imagine hundreds of cockroaches (dead or alive), mice, spiders, and a generally dirty and unkempt kitchen. I will NOT be eating here again. I've tried it a few times, and each time was full of disappointment.

The health inspector needs to take a look at this dump. It's been shut down before, about 2-3 years ago due to health concerns. From the looks of things, they haven't...

Just what we were looking for!

To find great Mexican food you have to look off the beaten path, you won't find it in the mall, at a stand-alone restaurant or any place that slathers their food with cheese food sauce.

Our experience at el Huarache Azteca was simply delightful! Our 2 year-old son loved the Mariachi band that was playing. Their chips are obviously homemade as they are thicker than the machine pressed tortillas you find elsewhere. We ordered a bowl of guacamole to share and it was very fresh and delicious with large chunks of chopped onion, tomato and cilantro. The kids and I opted for tacos, the kids each had chicken, I chose al Pastor, which was delicious! +DanielleMerriott chose to have chicken quesadilla which had an ample portion and also quite tasty with queso blanco and braised chicken.

The food was a great value, the four of us leaving very well satisfied for about $35 after a generous tip. We will happily...

First time visiting this establishment and I wasn't overly satisfied. My husband and I are Mexican food junkies and love to try new Mexican restaurants. I was first surprised by the small fining area, but it was decorated beautifully. Then came the chips and salsa. NOT overly impressed. Although I loved the homemade chips...the salsa wasn't what I would call good....but it wasn't disgusting. My husband on the other hand hated both. For our dinner my husband had the Steak Nachos Aztecas...which was huge and good. I had the steak chimichanga and loved it! We then ordered cheese dip because we didn't like the salsa. It was yellow. Not white con queso like you usually have at Mexican restaurants. It was like melted velveeta...with a few spicy tomatoes. Not the best. Soo...overall...it was okay. Not the best...but the main...

I have been here many times before the most recent renovations and they were pretty decent... Tonight after a fairly long day I took my wife and daughter to feadt in tacos. I wish I had gone to anywhere, even mcsonalds would have been an improvement. First I asked several times about any drink options with refills... I was pushed toward either coke or diet coke. I opt for a coke and a bottle comes out, I finish and ask about refill (some places just don't have fountain drinks but still do free new ones) I'm told no refills 2 dollars each bottle... Bad start. The food was not great, tortillas were all sort of puffy and rubbery and really took away from what should have been great authentic tacos. 50 dollars later for the three of us and we left wishing we had made any other decision. Shame.

We were looking forward to this dinner as we have had been here several times before covid. But since then this place has changed to the bad. The chips were super hard, not like you expect Mexican tortilla chips. The margarita was without ice and warm. They said they ran out of ice, but mysteriously people at other tables had drinks with glasses full of ice. The main dish, Alambre, Grilled Tenders Strips of Steak with Ham, Peppers, Onions & Mozzarella cheese, was very salty and the tender strips of steak was actually ground beef. And to top it off: our bill we were given to pay was $34.33 incl. Tax, but when we received the receipt to sign they added a service charge of $1.20 We are not cheap, but we don’t like to be charged extra without telling us. Needless to say: we won’t be back.😢

I was looking for somewhere new to eat and my cousin recommended this place he saw online. We sat down and ordered our food. The service was decent, however, once our food arrived I knew I should've gone somewhere else. The cheese inside the quesadillas was terrible. School cafeteria cheese was better, and the rice was no better. The only redeeming item was the burrito my cousin ordered which at best was a 5.5/10. I'm sad to say it but even the guacamole was bad. It was just mashed avocados with a diced tomato tossed in it. DO NOT COME HERE unless you want to pay for an overpriced, pre-cooked, frozen meal. We took most of it in a to go box because we felt bad and didn't want to throw it out there. Take a look.
