I frequently come to this library because of the location. It’s near my job. I’ve been going almost daily since April. I will no longer visit them. The workers saw my face constantly. Today as I was leaving to make a phone call, one of their own workers walked into the library. She had many books that made the alarm turn on. I’m a slim guy with nothing in my pockets and my phone in one hand, nothing the other. My clothes fit nicely and are not baggy. There was about a 2-3 second delay between me and her walking thru. They assumed it was me and start shouting “sir sir” as if I were stealing. I walked back to them and the girl who worked their also came back and told them it was her. At which point they have an incredulous look in their faces. Then said it’s because we walked through the anti theft detectors at the same time. I was very embarrassed and felt humiliated, and the people in the library looked at me like it was some type of jerry springer episode. I left and continued my call. I can’t recall the nice female employee’s name that helped clear my name, but kudos to her. I thanked her but as far as coming back there I never will. What makes it so bad is last week a guy walked through the detectors and had them activate and the same employee didn’t bat an eye lash. I don’t want to through race in the mix but at this point it’s up to interpretation. Just be careful...
Read morePoor customer service from long black hair female ( desk beside counter) with tattoos on arms. 10:45am Today 3-24-21, I got on a computer tried to print. Notified her that this was my 1st time here I'm trying to print 2 papers. I asked where is your printer; she informed me from behind the desk (I was wearing my mask). Next, I informed her that it wouldn't take my library card #. She instructed me on the computer code # process (at my computer).
Then I took the code to the printer to insert .20 cents. However, these printer don't accept coins and it's not economically tactful to use a credit card twice (.10 & .10). So, I had to walk to the counter again for insight on other options. Now finally, she informs me on a library pay card.
I am Sorry, for being so long winded. However, time management/the right to know is a form of customer service. Note: I'm not going to use the race card (I am a Black Male).
However "Corrective Action, retrain employees on providing individuals/first time visitors all the information on printing documents". Plus, reiterate if there's anything else I can help you with feel free to ask any...
Read moreAs of 5/11/18, Google Maps is showing the Student Services building at the back of the St. Pete College campus as being the new Clearwater East Community Library. This is incorrect. The correct building is 2465 Drew Street, on front corner of Drew and Old Coachman. It is a 2-storey white building. Being brand new, it is beautiful, very clean, and not crowded. It is a vast improvement over the old East Clearwater library. At this point, there seems to be plenty of parking. The entrance to the lot is on Drew Street and there's a barrier in the middle of the road, so if you're headed west on Drew, you need to go past the barrier and make a u-turn in order to get to the entrance. I'm assuming that if the front lot gets full, it's ok to park in the back in college parking, but I don't know that for sure. Wonder what they're going to do during Threshers baseball games across the street. I'm going to post a video of the...
