Waffle House — Restaurant in Clemson

After church, my friends and I decided to visit this Waffle House since we were hungry. When we arrived, the place was busy, but we didn’t mind waiting, even with a group of six. However, we noticed the employees casting glances our way, rolling their eyes, and seeming frustrated by our presence.

Finally, we were seated at an open table, but as I approached, a woman with a piercing (I didn’t catch her name) rolled her eyes and said, “We can’t sit six people” she walked away, shaking her head. I understand they were busy, but there was no need for that level of rudeness.

I turned to my friends and suggested we split up, so they could wait for another table. Just then, another employee came over and reiterated, “WE CAN’T sit six people in a booth,” as if we hadn’t already heard the first lady. Their tone was aggressive, so I said, “I’m not eating here because there’s no need to be rude.”

At that point, chaos ensued in the kitchen as more staff got involved like one of the cooks waved goodbye because they were mad we confronted the worker We told them that they didn’t need to be rude and could’ve said it in a better way and decided to leave, and they lost our business. It was completely uncalled for. I’ve been to Waffle House many times and have easily sat six people at a booth before. It shouldn't be that difficult to be courteous and do your job well. Based on this experience, I can’t recommend this location; it’s not our first encounter with rude service. The one near Walmart...

We love Waffle House, eat at one weekly but I’ve never experienced such rudeness as I just did in Clemson. Usually places in Clemson have great customer service nice happy town, of the Clemson tigers. Well I would give this 1 star because Waitress Jennifer “boss lady” as her name tag says is the rudest person I’ve ever encountered in a restaurant. Her attitude and snapping as I sat at a table she hadn’t cleaned yet I mean I started to walk out the door so hateful. Well we moved because she was obviously hating her life. So we moved to a table with “Suzanne” and she’s a 5 star employee!! Apologized for what she heard and took great care of us and made our little girl smile which is always a plus with a shy little girl. Well the men sat at the table with “boss lady” and she was so hateful to them the entire meal her name tag should read “one star” because maybe one day she deserves a star but it’s not today. So I was given a free waffle for what ever visit back to this store due to a mess up on my order. And I was given a red and yellow hat for a free waffle and was told nothing else about it. I recently tried to redeem it and they were rude about it they said I could only get eat in and get in (which doesn’t make sense with covid around) I frequently get Waffle House and I always tip here because usually they are so nice but ever since they got new management they have been really rude. They should understand that eating in around people that could have covid with a weak immune system is bad and very inconsiderate.
