As a faithful (weekly) supporter of Chick-fil-A’s in the Upstate, this Clemson location has frankly become incompetent and downright rude with a complete lack of customer service for my family. Two weeks ago, I transferred 1500!!! CFA points from my mother’s app to my app account as a gift of a Cobb Salad. I drove 7 minutes to the CFA - Clemson waited over 50 minutes in the drive-thru line for this “free” salad, because they decided not to utilize the double drive- thru lanes this evening and had 1 young girl handling the never-ending line - which is a whole different story about this location, constantly blocking lane/flow of traffic on Highway 123 (just ask Clemson police! 😉).
Only to finally get to the front of the line for her to say that the app/QR code wasn’t working for the Cobb Salad gift (“had already been used”, she said - clearly it had not been used yet!) and advised me to try again at the window. Waited another 10 minutes to get to the window, mind you we are approaching the 1 hour mark, just for the MANAGER on duty to shrug his shoulders and say “Well, that’s a technical issue I can’t fix...so you will need to pay for this salad.” No apologies given. Wow! We’ve already paid for this salad multiple times over when you consider you are telling me that this 1500 points, which takes a long time and a lot of money to accrue, can’t be used because of your “technical issue.” I held my composure and paid for my food. I lost a little faith in the exceptional customer service CFA is known for that night. We also lost those 1500 points that my mom had earned as well!! I have not returned...
Fast forward to today, (same location) my dad and brother order two breakfast (biscuit & bagel) items a little before 10:30...wanna know what they drive away with? A BOTTLE OF CHICK-FIL-A SAUCE...nothing else. I know this is a lesson in “check the bag”...but when we drive all the way back to correct YOUR mistake, you make no accommodations to provide the food for us, tell us it was thrown away. We ended up with a refund, which is the absolute minimum that should have been given.
Sure, everybody has a bad day and humans make mistakes...but it is the way that you have treated my family that shows me that you, Clemson Chick-Fil-A, are a sad and pathetic representation of the Chick-fil-A experience and brand. Do Better, Clemson CFA! Remember, the way you make someone feel (customer service) speaks volumes over the quality of your product...
Read moreI’ve been going to this CFA for 15 years and have unfortunately watched it deteriorate over that period of time. The poor reviews you read here are true: huge wait times, impolite service, cold or burnt food. Compared to other CFA’s in the area, this one is poorly managed and fails at their execution. What is to be expected of a CFA is not found at this location.
What made me finally write this review was an instance this morning, where we did not have a huge wait in the drive thru (surprisingly) and yet they STILL forgot to add food to our bag. We ordered 2 meals and an entree on the side, so nothing too big. I’m one of those people who understands if things are busy or if you miss some food once in a while, but the past 5 times my family has dined here, whether inside or through the drive-thru, food we have paid for has been missing. The quality is lacking, the food is subpar when I receive it cold or burnt (don’t get an egg white grill here) or after a 30 minute wait, and I’m tired of losing money expecting a different outcome.
The problem isn’t the wait times or the crowds, because Easley and Anderson have plenty and still deliver quality service and food - the issue is this store. The problem seems to be that either the training is off and the ownership doesn’t care to put the work in to train and plan their execution of service, or they rotate management too often, or both. I used to work at this store in its heyday, and our staff team was solid for morning and evening shift, working as a well-oiled machine, no rotating door of employees, for years. It can be that again, just stop depending upon the bells and whistles to ‘get numbers’ and do what every good company does that makes people want to stay: invest in your employees and care about your customer.
My advice? Go if you have to, if the store isn’t bursting, check your bags before you leave - but if possible just go to a local place instead or go to a neighboring fast food place where you’ll get better service and...
