We were desperately trying to find a date night spot on a Sunday evening in Clemson.... Harder than I thought! Why is the whole town shut down Sundays in a college town?! Not smart business...
Anywho, we found this spot. Small, cozy little spot in a small strip mall. I didn't have too high of hopes, being that I'm from the west coast w great, authentic ramen and sushi burritos. But this place exceeded my expectations! It had a fun atmosphere-- lively Korean and Japanese music videos playing, lively and fun servers, Japanese chefs behind the glass making the food, cozy booths, bar seating as well, and it was packed at 6 on a Sunday evening!
Our server-- I believe her name was Madison-- was great! Very sweet and fun, attentive and helped us choose things.
We started with the edamame -- and chose to add the garlic spicy sauce to it-- delish!! We then ordered the spicy shrimp ramen to share. It comes with popcorn shrimp on the side that you add in yourself. Ramen was great! Very flavorful and a big bowl. We also ordered the salmon crunch sushi burrito. It was okay. I didn't love the way they do their rice for it. I'm used to sushi burritos having more of a sticky rice to help hold it together. This didn't hold as well and seemed to have fried panko on the outside... not sure. It wasn't bad, but wasn't my fav. The flavors were pretty good though. And it's large and filling. We also ordered some hot house sake to share. It's the only affordable one on the menu, since they don't sell any by the shot.
We'll be back! It was a perfect date night spot, and we'll bring the kiddo back there...
Read moreI would give this place a negative number if I could! While in Clemson, my daughter (she goes to the University) said that she has been wanting to try this place. So we did. We both ordered the ramen (which was horrible) but I was on an important phone call at the time and decided I would eat just enough of mine to not be hungry. My daughter, on the other hand, took one bite of hers and hated it. She told the waitress she did not like it and was then asked by her if she'd like something else. She decided to go with the burrito (which was almost just as bad) but she then too decided to eat just enough not to be hungry. When we got the bill both of her choices were on there and the hostess said because she took a bite out of it we would still have to pay for it. This is scary in itself because that leads me to believe if she had never taken a bite of it, they would have served it to someone else. I explained to her we were not told that by the waitress when she was asked if she wanted something else. She said that it didn't matter, "Owner's Policy". So I asked to speak to the owner. He was the most rude and standoffish owner I have ever dealt with! Long story short, DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME, MONEY, OR...
Read moreCame in midday on a Wednesday and I was alone! Which is insane because everything I got was delicious! My waitress was incredibly attentive I wish I had gotten her name she was a young looking Asian woman with short bobbed black hair.
Ordered a water, and exceptionally delicious lychee flavored soju.
The edamame (add spice) was to die for and just sweet and spicy enough to sweat between the eyes 5/5.
The king pork tonkatsu ramen bowl was a triumph! The pork chase was delicious but the star of the show was the slow roasted pork tenderloin! Or the greens and soy egg I just can’t decide. The broth was so incredibly flavorful and packed with umami - I was a bit nervous to order it too spicy but I was actually wanting it hotter (that was my mistake though I’ll just have to go back for more)! 5/5
Even though I was a single customer the host seated me at a full booth and I cannot say how much I appreciate that! I was able to face the television which featured rotating KPOP music videos.
Everything from ambience, service, food, and comfort was a 10/10 a five star experience and it’s left me...
