Marco's Pizza — Restaurant in Clemson

We'd ordered from Marcos twice before and the service was fast and the pizza fine. Last night though, I put in an order around 7:30 (Friday night). The coupon code I tried to use didn't work and I wasn't getting anyone when I tried to call so I just ordered anyway without the coupon. I put my daughter to sleep and when I was done, I saw a missed call from Marcos. I called back, got put on hold twice, and then was told they were cancelling delivery orders because they were running out of supplies/didn't have enough drivers so I could cancel or come pick it up. Since I couldn't leave the house with the kids sleeping, I canceled. I was really disappointed there wasn't more of an effort to honor the orders they'd already taken or some type of apology. It was just sort of lackluster service. Maybe they're still working out the kinks but I've been burned by a lot of restaurants in the area that cater to college students and don't provide dependable service so I'll probably stay away...

The past two times we tried this establishment, we've had horrible experiences. The 1st time, we placed our order and paid. We waited for time, drove over and sat in front of place. After watching employees stand around for a while, they decided to inform us that they closed and forgot to call us. Still took our money though, which I thought was mighty kind of them. 2nd time, placed our order, drove to pick it up. Got to watch all but two employees hanging out on phones. Once they decided to bring our food out, which had been sitting there whole time, we were able to enjoy cold pizza. This place is a joke, with the absolute cream of the top of the work force. Will never use this cap...

Until today I considered Marcus to be on par with gourmet pizza. Now it tastes no better than Domino's but is still way more expensive. Sauce and crust both have changed. At this location, tables were dirty yet employees were not busy. No longer offers fountain drinks; Very limited selection of bottled drinks cost us almost as much as the pizza. Even though we were dine in, they did not bring the pizza to us on a pan with spatula as usual, we had to pick it up at counter in a box. I asked for a spatula and the employee reacted like she didn't know what that was, or why would I ask, and gave me a plastic disposable...
