Your Pie Pizza - Clemson Downtown — Restaurant in Clemson

We had the most uncomfortable experience here. When we went to eat is was about 2:30 pm during the summer so the place was empty except one couple sitting down and us about to eat. The employee at the counter was rushing us to decide when there was no one else there. We said we didn't know. She asked if we wanted pizza. We said yes, probably. She said she needed to know to get the dough ready. Again, we were the only ones there and we were in no rush... Then throughout this employee questioned what I put on the pizza. Are you sure? Nothing else? Are you sure? And it wasn't in a friendly, joking way. It was off-putting. The employee also questioned whether I wanted a drink: Are you sure? Yes, I was sure. Overall, the pizza was fine, but we just had these continuous weird uncomfortable interactions with that employee. Why were we being rushed when we were the only ones in line, we weren't in a hurry, and it was our first time there? Why did this employee feel the need to question what we wanted on a build-your-own pizza? Not sure if it was just this employee or the way they train them here, but there are other places to get pizza so we probably...

Food was good as usual but service was mighty slow tonight. There was a home game tonight but there weren't many people in the restaurant when we came in around 4:50pm on a Saturday. Normally when I come in there are people there to welcome you and assist you right away; tonight there was no one. Finally after a couple minutes somebody came down to the beginning of the food area to help us. I wouldn't be writing this if it was one time but this happened three times tonight. Next, I wanted Ranch dressing on my pizza before it went in the oven...no Ranch. Someone went to get it. Seemed liked five minutes later someone came out with it. I stayed there to make sure it was put on before it was cooked. Finally, paid for our food and sat down. When it was time to get my Gelato, I waited another three minutes or so for help and someone walking near me doing another task asked me if I needed help. Twice I had to go back to the Gelato counter and ask for a lid then a bag and luckily the (I assume) the owner was there to assist me. I have never had bad service until today. Everything...

For the pizza: 5 stars. My daughter has celiacs so we ordered gluten free. They made it in the back and put the pizza in its own metal container and then in shared pizza oven. I asked an employee their process before we ordered and he was really assuring. Pizza was kind of like a pita bread base, really good.

For the girl taking our order last night(Annika?): My daughter ordered and as soon as she asked for gf this employee started with a “this is such a bother attitude.” Asked if it was a preference or allergy - fair question. She answered allergy and this employee just stared at her for too long, like she didn’t believe her, and then made a big deal out of having to hand a piece of paper to the guy making it in the back. I saw the blood drain from my daughter’s face and kept my mama bear cool, but it wasn’t easy! We both agreed we would’ve walked out If this town had more options. It already sucks to be different and have to ask for gf, no reason to be rude and act put out about our order, especially since it’s a...
