Had an absolutely horrible experience here yesterday. First off, the service was very very slow. Me and my friends all ordered sodas with our meals. At one point during the meal our server refilled our sodas without us asking. We didn’t think anything of it since that is normal practice in restaurants. Then when we had to hunt our server down for the bill by walking up to the bar and asking her, we were shocked to see we were charged $12 for our sodas that were very flat and honestly gross. I kindly asked the server (Colleen) why we were charged multiple times when she said the sodas aren’t free refills. This would make sense if we got bottles or cans, however we did not. I responded “okay, that’s fine, however I do think you should let people know this before bringing them refills” (especially when they don’t ask). She promptly snapped back at us “it says it on the menu” with quite an attitude, snatched our checks, and walked away. Definitely left a bad taste in our mouth since we a) didn’t ask for the refills b) were kindly inquiring and not asking her to take them off the check. Her response was rude and condescending. We decided to take a look at the menu, and no where on the menu does it mention the lack of free refills. As you can see it mentions the tea has free refills but nothing about the soda not having free refills. Since this is standard most places in this country, you would think it would be explicitly listed. Will not be returning after the attitude of...
Read moreProbably the some of the best, most fresh food I have had in Clemson. A breath of fresh air when it concerns culinarily stops in the upstate of SC. Our waitress Delany was awesome basically covered the restaurant by herself! Kid and Adult friendly! Our food was prepared just how we ordered it. The Shrimp tacos are a must must! Covid aware and properly worn masks. Definitely a must try! We started with the FGT’s and the dish was served with a pesto aioli and bacon jam! OMG... this made for an unbeatable take on FGT’s. The shrimp tacos were light, spicy, savory and crunchy, the tortilla chips were also a great compliment especially with fresh guacamole for dipping. Do NOT forget dessert, caramel filling in a traditional churros and chocolate sauce for dipping is definitely a spectacular shareable dessert!
Update it’s been over 6 months since We have been here. Still phenomenal! The fried green tomatoes are the best I have ever had, in the state! It will rival anything in Charleston, with this rendition which comes with a pesto aioli and a bacon jam! Pop’s says his French dip was very tasty! And he has eating a few I’m sure. The aus jus is so legit. The staff work very hard, to prepare consistent good tasting food, and it shows. They split the Cali club for my wife and I plated separately for us. College town feel. Wonderful staff. Great food. What’s...
Read moreYesterday and Friend and I were in town from Greenville SC and decided to have lunch at Evolve. We both ordered a Chimichurri Steak sandwich with fries. When the our orders came to eat lunch we both started to eat. My friend was chewing and she spit hard plastic out. She then saw a 3inch size of hard plastic in the sandwich. We told the waitress. She offered for the kitchen to make something else. The waitress told the cook, and when she returned is all she could do was give a discount. She then said it wasn’t plastic it was the paper from and onion. It ABSOLUTELY WAS NOT the paper of and onion!!!!! I was appalled. It’s upsetting to me because the bill was still$33.00. It was more upsetting that they didn’t take any accountability on it being plastic. Instead gaslighting us to make it seem it was paper from an onion. We didn’t finish our food. If my friend had swallowed the hard plastic piece that could have hurt her severely. We asked to speak with the manager and he was so rude. He did take accountability still stuck with it was the paper from an onion. I would like my Money back. I called a friend who manages a restaurant here in Greenville and she said she believes it was plastic wrap that the steak was in that got cooked with the steak and made a sharp edge plastic which makes sense....
