Visiting from out of town, wound up at this place on a suggestion from a local. Low brow dive bar- but not in the cute, ironic, high-low kind of way. More like in the “it’s dark because the owner is too lazy to pay for cleaning” kind of way. Here’s what to expect: First impression: stickiness. Everywhere. Sometimes with pieces of food in it. This isn’t a place to dress up for, you will leave with something gross on you from a table/chair/door/wall… basically, don’t touch anything. Second impression: AGRESSIVE and rude staff; they are definitely there to make an issue with you, not serve you. Don’t bother trying to be polite, you will be met with attitude no matter what. Literally wondering if they are recruiting staff from a mental institution- the personality disorders are completely overwhelming. There is clearly no standards on training staff or expectations around professionalism nor customer service, and the staff will complain about how little they get paid- perhaps that is the source of the problem? Or is it that tips are low for some mysterious reason? Maybe the industry is called “hospitality” for a reason? Third impression: FILTHY bathroom. Definitely don’t find yourself in need of facilities in this place. Lasting impression: whoever owns this place gave up on it a long time ago and fully gives zero thought to the business. Zero pride of ownership, zero oversight, zero management. Not knowing anything about this business specifically, as a visitor and from the outside it seems that it was passed down or sold by the original owner, and whoever owns it now clearly doesn’t care about it. It feels like one of those places that used to be a local institution, but it was passed down to a child who doesn’t care about it- it feels like it’s owned by a spoiled drunk frat boy who does t think that you actually have to work if you own a bar.The lack of process improvement is palpable, there are visible code violations, the staff blatantly lack any kind of direction/leadership/accountability. I can only imagine what the kitchen must look like with the front of the house being so filthy. Will not return, but will make sure that people know to avoid. This neighborhood doesn’t seem like it’s doing that well, it makes me wonder if it’s the area, or if it’s the business...
Read moreTerrible Customer Service I purchased a Calzone and French Fries last night at closing (12AM). When my food got to me the calzone was undercooked and there was no sauce or cheese inside. Both items were ice cold. Since they were closed I was unable to report this last night. I sent my husband there today to make complaint and woman manager told him to bring the food back and she would take care of it. After he came all the way home to get the food and take it back up there the employee that greeted him at drive up turned to the inside of customer and staff and mocked him for bringing the food back and then played ignorant when he was called out. The woman manager that told him to bring the food backrefused to do anything saying there was cheese and sauce inside [which there was not] and aside from that the dough was not fully cooked I should know I tried to eat a few small bites. He then parked and went in to speak to another manager who also said there is nothing he can do. All I wanted was my food replaced however, now I'm out $13 after they all touched and breathed on my food I can't even try to cook it more myself now. I used to eat regularly here but as a restaurant critique I have to say please Do Not waste your time or money here as they do not guarantee their food and obviously have minimal service abilities. This could have been a teachable moment for the staffer that enjoys mocking the customer but when he has management that lies and has you waste gas bringing food back that they had no intention of replacing what else can you expect from the service? Now this how it looked when i got it back after being told to bring it back and then refused to replace it (not sure how the top of it...
Read moreA lot of people rave about how great the food is here at Dina's. Well unfortunately that doesn't include me.
I would rate it as okay at best. It's bar food other than the pizza, which you can't expect too much when it comes to bar food from a hole in the wall like establishment as Dina's. The pizza that everyone talks up in honestly far too greasy and lacks much flavor when you put aside the grease and fat from the meats. The crust is even relatively disappointing to be perfectly honest.
Whilst the food is somewhat lacking for anything more than the run of the mill bar and grill, the atmosphere is wonderful. It's clean, friendly, and suits a family friendly vibe even with having a full bar within.
The customer service provided is phenomenal. The wait staff from the bartender to the waitresses / waiters are very attentive.
The bathrooms, well they're bathrooms. They could do with a better cleaning and better quality bathroom paper but it's nothing too terrible.
The outside patio area as it's enclosed kind of has an odor of stale smoke as smokers relax out there and dine. The plastic covering of the patio used for I'm assuming rainy or snowy weather could do with a nice clean or replaced as they are of a smoke tinted color in parts.
All around okay place to grab a beer and a quick bite. Nothing spectacular but nothing...
