Food: I came into the store right around the time I was supposed to come in. It took roughly a half hour to finally cash out and get my food. My takoyaki was completely cold so I can not fully tell if it was good. The Tuna salad I got was good though and it carries my 3 stars on the food.
Service: As stated above in the food category, I waited a half hour but I was more upset with the lack of recognition when I was waiting. I end up waiting by the cash register after standing at the front entrance for a good 5-10 minutes. Eventually, the service that was running around taking care of all the dine-in people came to cash someone out, and I communicated to her I was there for a carryout. She quickly said "Yes i know" and then walked away. The other two people behind the bar did not say anything at all. I noticed she did disappear to the back and never came back out. Eventually after the half-hour the one guy behind the bar cashed me out with me noticing the food was already made before I got in. He bagged it up and cashed me out.
I am not about anyone else but knowing my food is sitting on a shelf while no one could do a quick 2-minute cash-out plus the half-hour wait time is upsetting. Please note that the online order says to come to the restaurant in half an hour to pick up the food.
Atmosphere: I came into the store around 7:30 pm so the interior lighting was pretty dark but there are some big windows in front, so I am sure it would normally not be dark inside. I like the atmosphere between how quiet it seems and how peaceful it is. I could probably read a nice book and have some sushi.
Thank you for reading my review, I probably will not be going back from my experience, but it does not mean people should read this and not at least try them out. All the works seemed super focused on making sure to...
Read moreMy wife and I actually live very close by and we have never come to "The Lantern" just because....Okay! so we had no excuse..... Well we decided to check it out The prices are right and I love Lake Erie Perch! We walked in and at the time there were mostly people at the bar but we pulled up a booth and the server was the bartender and waitress! Her name was Stephanie and she worked the place masterfully! We had our "Clevehattan" Drinks (like a Manhattan). Yummy! Their ice cube is a "Ice Ball!" (A bit larger than a golf ball) Very well made with a bourbon I admit I was unfamiliar with... "Clevleand Bourbon" brand! Ordered a Wedge Salad. The dressing is magnificent and we ordered each their Strip Steak. Ten ounces and let me say, I am a Strip Steak lover and this steak was a full ten ounces!. Cooked to taste perfectly and served hot with "Broccolini, and Garlic Mashed Potatoes. Lake Erie Perch next time! The meal was excellent! The price is fair and affordable considering the quality of the entire meal. As for Stephanie, A diligent worker, handling the entire restaurant and bar with friendly attitude! Half price burgers on Tuesday and "All You Can Eat Lake Erie Perch' On Sunday and get this, All day Happy Hour on Sundays! All Day! You have to check this place out in Kamm's Corners Plaza At Rocky River Drive and Lorain Rd., West Park.
Okay, Lets move now to a few weeks later. It's Friday and were here to try the "All You Can Eat Perch" dinner. We started out with appetizers and drinks. When the meal arrived , delivered by Nick one of the managers also working to take care of orders. The amount of perch is amazing with their own breading! I mean it really, the food is great, the drinks are great and the service is...
Read moreRed Lantern Japanese Cuisine at 17446 Lorain Avenue in the Kamms Corners shopping center, hits the mark on pretty much everything. I arrived Christmas evening. As depicted in the movie "Christmas Story", asian restaurants are the traditional go-to place for Christmas dinner. Not surprisingly, RLJC was busy. The atmosphere is modern and minimalist with a warm red glow throughout. I appreciated the calm atmosphere that was easy to enjoy a conversation in. You're welcomed by a display of traditional Japanese Kimonos, a fully stocked bar and sushiya. Restaurants are often "dinged" because of poor service. I cannot say enough about the great service I received. I had a waitress and a host who followed up three times to ensure we were completely satisfied. The images are for the Sashimi Deluxe (raw fish) and the House Sushi Dinner - both in the $28.00 range. Both dinners were presented so artfully, I hated to eat it. The sashimi was resting on spinach leaves and ice; the ice keeping the fresh flavor of the raw fish. I half expected my sashimi to jump off the table it was so fresh and delicious. The rolls had satisfying firmness and texture and did not fall apart even with my clumsy mishandling of the chopsticks. I highly recommend you bring the whole family for your next Christmas dinner - or any other special...
