I wrote a negative review after placing an Uber Eats order. The gist was I called ahead to ask what was protocol for Uber orders if they are out of something because we were placing a big order for a family late at night, and they typically seem to be out of some things (normal for a place with a big menu). I was told they would call me if that happened to ask if I want a replacement. I placed the order, they ended up being out of half the order, no one called, so when the delivery came half of the family's dinner was MIA with no explanation.
When I called to ask where the other half of the order was, I was told that they cancelled it without contacting me, that they only contact people if they have the time, and they insisted that part of the order that didn't show up was actually in the bag and I'd have to petition Uber for a refund for that part. Overall, not a great experience where we were left hungry with money tied up in Uber's fast food escrow.
HOWEVER, after I got up this morning I saw that they responded to the review in about 20 minutes and I had 2 missed calls from them. They also refunded all of the missing items in Uber. Looking at the smattering of other negative reviews, they always respond and their responses are very professional. They make no accusations or assumptions, they are courteous, and they offer a tangible resolution. That's way more than I can say about most businesses and it shows a level of care and accountability that I respect.
Bottom line is, I worked in food service for years, we all have bad nights. I accidentally dumped a tray of beers on a guy WHILE he was complaining to the manager about pretty much everything... so yeah, ish happens at the worst moment sometimes. Trying to talk down hangry people requires an FBI crisis negotiator, so the fact that they stare down the devil every night (i.e. hungry people in a gas station at 1 a.m.) and still manage to smile while serving up some good food means that they are truly doing the Lord's work.
Definitely give them a try and don't write them off after one bad experience. It looks like they are having some growing pains, but I hope they expand in the future and are able to integrate their own delivery service.
Thank you for being understanding and thank you for acting so quickly to...
Read moreFor starters, I’m going to say I buy things here frequently and there’s usually an average to pleasant level of customer service. For some reason the few times that I’ve purchased food the customer service was worse than bad. My expectations aren’t very high so it isn’t hard to meet them but when you argue with me because you give me old food (and I do mean old) and tell me that I should have said I wanted fresh or when you tell me that I’m ordering wrong when I ordered EXACTLY what I wanted and didn’t expect any assumptions to be made that I would want anything added or taken off of the order because it’s made a certain way “traditionally” and I am given a coaching session on ordering instead of just making the order just how I asked for it, that bothers me. So I’ve decided from now on I’ll just not even bother with the headache and go get average food with better service from anywhere else....
Read moreTheir fried chicken (especially the tender) is fantastic. Better than you'd expect... By a lot. Try em. This review used to be a four-star. But the truth is it needs to be a five-star because these are the best chicken tenders in town. That is no joke. Go to Cane's and get one chicken tender. Come down to this place and get a one chicken tender. The contest will be 80% over just looking at it. The contest will be 100% over after the first bite. No joke. Like me you'll be laughing that you get your chicken tenders from a gas station....but you will. Take the chicken tender test and and let me know with a thumbs up to the review if I'm right. I am in no way related to this...
