Kabob On the Cliff — Restaurant in Cliffside Park

I have known about this spot for a while, but never got around to trying it for some reason until recently. This is a restaurant I was warned about before going in that the prices are a bit steep. That said, I wanted to see for myself. The experience initially was okay. It is the type of place where you just seat yourself and get your own menus which I did not realize at first. It started off a little awkward for that reason because my friend and I were like “do we get menus?” Anyhow, once that was done and we ordered, everything was fine for the most part. I will add that they only had canned sodas which is definitely a con. This means no free refills as I was rationing my soda throughout my meal. I did not want to pay for a refill, and prefer fountain soda anyway. You also have to get up and get your soda from the fridge which is not the end of the world, just something I prefer for a takeout experience opposed to a dine in. I got one of the meat platters which came out to 28 bucks and change plus tax. That is a little much for what I received and my friend agreed. The quality of the food was definitely good. The meat was tender and juicy for the most part, just wish they served it with a little more rice for that price. I only had one bit of grizzle in the meat, but that is it. I can not complain about the quality because they definitely can make a good kebob. The food also came out quite fast which I appreciate; the service was pretty quick once we sat down. I was told their prices used to be lower, but this was on the more expensive end compared to kebob places. This is definitely not a bad local spot and I am glad that we gave it a try. Let me start out with the following, I am Muslim, I like good halal places. I ended up trying one of their other locations and quickly fell in love. Only problem is the service is absolutely terrible.. I have order twice on the phone both times they made a mistake on my order forgetting stuff. I was born and raised here so 0 accent here and never had any issues ordering before. (I think it's because the lady and the other guy are always talking on the phone when I come and treat you like a nuisance)

Now is the fun part when I picked up both times.. I repeat exactly the items I ordered. They confirm and then is the fun part where I check my order in store since the bags feel awfully light,I ask about the item they said they gave me a few mins earlier they stay quiet caught right handed...

Normally at resteraunts due to COVID I leave generous tips for pickup $10-20+ on a order for 2 people... not that I have money to waste but businesses are hurting,but this places I never will and frankly their treatment of customers will make sure I will never be a...

I am sorry but this place is disgusting! I hope the owner(s)/Operator read this note and act on it. There is always one (and only one) person serving the place and she runs around like a chicken with its head cut off! Not realizing at all that people come to a restaurant to relax as well as to have food. Her responses are polite but completely robotic! "Yes, No, Thank you, Mercy, etc., etc."

Do not ever go to the bathroom! And please, please do not open the bathroom door or the entire place gets filled with the awful stench of never cleaned toilet. Hands down embarrassing!

Please, the entire place needs a thorough, detailed cleaning - its simply dirty all over!

Please change the burned out light bulbs for god sake.

Finally, hire some professionals with some decent clothing, rather than people working in their underwear cloth, wiping their perspiration on their sleeves.

I sincerely apologies for publicly highlighting the above points and I hope the owner(s)/operator considers the points above and not reject them. But I know that I am hoping...
