This was one of the worst grooming experiences I’ve ever had — and I deeply regret trusting Jay at Head to Tail with my dog, Coco. Before the grooming, I clearly showed Jay a photo of how I wanted Coco to be groomed. I told him I wanted her face and ears just slightly shorter than the photo. But instead, he shaved her head down to match the short length of her body — without explaining what he meant. The result? Coco looked nothing like herself. I didn’t even recognize my own dog. Who in their right mind shaves a standard poodle’s face that short? I also told Jay specifically to trim the body short, but not so short that her skin would show. And yet, he shaved her so close that her skin is completely visible — something I absolutely did not agree to. It looks terrible and clearly shows he didn’t listen to a single thing I said. But it gets worse. After we got home, I noticed Coco obsessively licking her paw. When I checked, I saw that her dewclaw had been cut way too short — it was bleeding, and they had tried to cover it up with styptic powder. I immediately called the head to tail Jay first pretended not to know anything, but only admitted to it when I described the situation in detail. No accountability until he was caught. And as if that wasn’t enough, her ears weren’t even cleaned properly. She’s been shaking her head constantly and is clearly in pain. This is complete negligence. This is not what a $150 grooming service includes tip should look like and II trusted them with my dog’s safety and well-being, and they completely failed on every level. I will never go back, and I strongly warn others — especially poodle owners — to stay away from at Head to Tail.

In my opinion I would not recommend this grooming facility to anyone that loves their pet. I took my 5 lib yorkie for full service on Saturday and by Tuesday I had to rush him to the vet, because his anal glands ( which is part of the package I paid for)and was not done and never stated that it wasn't done so I can take precautions so he wouldn't have to go through the pain and suffering he is experiencing due to his anal glands exploding. When I tried to resolve this issue with the facility I was told it was not their issue and they would not be taking Any responsibility. No apologies,or empathy was expressed for what my pet and I are going through because of their neglagence. If I didn't take him in when I did I could have lost my fur baby. Please stay away from this place as stated by other reviewers this place is unprofessional.

Best Service! Nice employees, Best Groomers at Great prices!! Loved the cocker cut I have been getting from Head To Tail! Nice and Blended and the length I wanted! Coat came out very shiny as well! Told me about her skin problem and ears infection(although I knew about it) its always great to know that they are keeping eye on one by one. Love the way they treat them. I love to see my cocker loving to be at the place and is comfortable, since mine use to not enjoy going to groomers for the past 5 years before Head to Tail! its a huge change of her behavior. They provide upto 6hrs free daycare when you go in for grooming which is great! They also have Montessori, where they have different activities for them to learn social skills and others! Love them and definitely always go back to them!

I genuinely never leave reviews but after what I dealt with today a review is warranted. I drop my dog off for his appointment at 9am with a new groomer i had not been with before. A tall and skinny asian guy. I pick my dog up around 12. Upon picking him up i put him in my car and go home and once i bring him upstairs, i realized he smelled badly. I’ve brought my dog here multiple times and each time I have had no complaints (except for when they shaved my dog without me telling them to). My dog smelling bad was something new to me because again, i never have any complaints. I called and let them know my dog stunk and they offered to bathe him again. When i got back to the groomers, i was met with the guy who initially groomed my dog and he proceeded to question me. I explained that my dog stinks and i've never had this issue before. he then proceeds to ask me ā€œare you saying the dog wasn't bathed?ā€ obviously i was not upstairs and i don't have a camera attached to my dogs eyes so i responded ā€œi was not there i don't know what was done but my dog stinks and again, i have never had this problem beforeā€. He takes my dog upstairs and 2 hrs later my dog is finally ready to be picked up AGAIN. My mother goes to pick up my dog and the guy proceeds to tell her that he thinks I was ā€œmaking it upā€. For starters, if I have never previously complained, why would I make this up? Not only was the grooming not free but my time is also not free. Why would I sit here and make this up to have to turn around and bring my dog back after his initial appointment? Are we ok in the head??? the appointment was still paid for, the dog was still dropped off and picked up, the groomer was still tipped. This was such an infuriating experience and I will no longer be bringing my dog here. Yumi was the only reason my dog was brought here previously and even after her maternity leave I still decided to keep coming. thank you to the man today we WILL be finding a...

Place does look nice and they are friendly but they're NOT equipped to handle cats, even though they offer services for cats (clipping and grooming). They'd told me I didn't need an appointment for nail clipping, so i dropped in with my cat as they'd suggested. They said it would only take a minute. Two minutes later they came back up saying my cat wouldn't come out of the crate and that he wouldn't be able to clip the nails. When i came down stairs to see if i could help, there turned out to be 4 other dogs in the same room (small room), so yeah... no wonder the cat wasn't in a rush to come out!! There was no other room they could do this in or take out the dogs (for the proposed 'minute' they told me it would take). There was no equipment/leash/harness to keep the cat still/calm in (how do they groom them??). I had to take the cat out of the crate myself and hold him. Even then the groomer said he still didn't want to clip the nails. Eventually he did clip the nails, but it took a while to convince him (i hadn't gone through the trouble of bringing the cat and stressing him out only to get a 'no' and do all this over again a different day without guarantee). I had to pay the full amount afterwards ($14, nothing crazy but I'd basically done half the job). I think it's a reasonable place for dog grooming, just don't take your cat there, if (s)he's anything like the majority of cats. If it's a very chill cat that doesn't get frazzled over anything/body/animal, it's probably doable, but how many of those are there? Call ahead to find out their scheduled dog grooming, cause there's only 1 small space with several tables where they do this and it could be filled with dogs waiting to be groomed and being groomed. Not ideal to bring a cat into. I was disappointed in...

Updated review: brought both of my little guys here and they did their haircuts perfectly! After explaining about the last time With needing my yorkies legs shorter the groomer did it perfect. I also have a Brussels griffon and his haircut came out adorable. Would highly recommend this place! So glad I finally found a good spot in the area.

Overall this was a great experience. Brought my 8lb yorkie hereafter having a terrible experience with a high end pet groomers on river Rd. The place on river Rd charged me about $100 per dog and did a terrible job! So I had to find a new place. Head to tail had great reviews so I brought 1 of my 2 dogs here. The women at the counter was very friendly and informative. The groomer overall did a great job. So the only negative is the groomer wasn't there when I came or left. My dogs legs were left too long and when I told the women at the counter this she said the groomer already left. I asked if I could bring him back in when the groomer had time to fix it and she said they don't usually do that. I found this odd as I wasn't able to see the groomer myself and explain what I wanted. Customer satisfaction should be a priority. The fact that I wanted more hair taken off shouldn't of been an issue they should of done it gladly without hesitation ,instead I got the response of"we don't usually do that. We will allow it this 1 time but that's it" very odd. It's been about a month and I need to book another haircut for him because his legs are getting matted(hence why I wanted them done shorter) I will go back for another shot because overall the haircut was good and he looked adorable. Hopefully there's better communication and the...
