Carla Mia Pizzeria — Restaurant in Clifton

I never write reviews but I feel as if this warrants one. I placed my order through the "Slice" app at around 12:45pm for a sausage, onion, and pepper Parmesan hero and some zeppoles. After receiving notification around 1:15pm of the food being ready for pickup I headed inside. They proceeded to explain they got the order, but the receipt was missing in their system, but because I had proof on my end they took a photo of it and made my order. This was no problem, technology fails and people can not control it, but when I got home and opened my food the sausage parmesan hero was a cold bread, mayonnaise, onions, shredded lettuce and a few scattered tiny pieces of sausage. I drove back to the place and told them it was incorrect, the owner was very nice and had the workers remake it. I am not sure if the chef was new, but they remade it and I opened it in front of them to see if it was right. At surface view it looked right because of the amount of cheese, but when I got home and bit into it there was still mayonnaise and probably one teaspoon of marinara sauce on the sandwich total. At that point it was about 2:20pm and I was not driving back for the second time. By that point the deformed zeppoles were cold and inedible and it was $20 down the drain. I made a complaint and the owner offered me only 20% off my next order as if I would bother trying this place again. Overall, I was quite impressed with the quality of the food at this new restaurant. All items pizza, subs and pasta dishes were flavorful and well-prepared, and I appreciated the attention to detail that went into each dish.

First, let's talk about the pizza. I tried the Margherita chicken pizza with jalapeños, which was topped with fresh mozzarella, tomato sauce, and basil. The crust was thin and crispy, with just the right amount of char on the edges. The tomato sauce was tangy and well-seasoned, and the fresh mozzarella melted beautifully on top. I really enjoyed this pizza and would definitely order it again.

Next up was the pasta dish, and I opted for the classic spaghetti with chicks. The pasta itself was perfectly cooked, with a nice al dente texture. The chicken pieces were tender and juicy, and had a great flavor thanks to a generous dose of herbs and spices. The tomato sauce was rich and hearty, and paired perfectly with the vege mixes. I was really impressed with this dish as well, and would highly recommend it to anyone who loves a classic pasta and meat combo.

Overall, I would say that this new restaurant definitely knows how to do pizza, pasta and subs right. The quality of the ingredients and the care that went into each dish was evident, and I would definitely come back to try more of their menu items. Okay, I wish I had taken pictures not as if you need to take pictures of chicken wings with or without barbeque sauce. The chicken was done perfectly better than wings chicken wings because wings chicken wings are all dried up. My problem is wings that should have barbeque sauce on it should be drenched, not leaving the person to place it on . And if for some reason you need more, then get more. The plain wing was fine but needed to be drenched in barbeque sauce. Another problem was that the worker hardly spoke good English. It is very hard to communicate with him. I understand new management new workers that's fine but if you are going to do business with the public you need to effectively communicate to the public. One more problem was I just received a brochure from the establishment on Saturday in my mailbox. The coupons were already expired. 6/30/23. Don't know who placed three brochures in my mailbox, but when I saw that they had chicken wings with and without barbeque sauce, I thought this was good. But when I told the man behind the counter that I had these coupons he told me that he would have to talk to the manager asked were the manager was he told me in broken English that he was not there.
