When traveling, I seek out local flavor. Harrison’s was recommended to me by the folks who live up the road in Rocky Top (formerly Lake City). I walked over from the hotel and had a fantastic supper. I could not resist the idea of Cilantro Lime Chicken with rice pilaf, though I substituted broccoli for the green beans paired with the meal on the menu. It was fantastic. The rice and broccoli were fantastic. While my taste would have loved more cilantro on the chicken it was cooked well and the lime flavor came through. I am NOT complaining, as it was delicious.
Service by Trevor was at his pace, but he was very friendly and I noticed that he made sure to time and talk with his customers and not at them. So I adjusted my fast food expectations and found that the service was perfect. They kept things moving. There were always refills, bread, and butter. I just had to relax and enjoy the ride, which is why you come to a place like Harrison’s anyway. Music was also a song-a-long mix of hits from multiple decades and really added to the atmosphere.
I was so glad I ordered water and could justify the coconut cream pie order for dessert. It was every bit as good as Trevor said it would be.
In short, after being long, Trevor’s is the kind of place that if you go in being in a hurry and looking for something to be unhappy about you will likely find it. However, if you relax into the eclectic decor from as many decades as the music and just enjoy the evening, you will find the delight that is missing from most modern establishments. I highly recommend enjoying a meal at Harrison’s. Make it a destination for its own...
Read moreCame here today for my daughter’s graduation dinner with our closest family members. 6 in total. From seating to greeting from our server 8 minutes… even though she passed our table a total of 4 times. Trying to be patient bc we had our grandparents with us that are in their late 80s and my daughter wanted it to be a good memory. Placed an appetizer order and only one appetizer came out. Food came out right behind it with only one plate being correct. No apology just I’ll go get it… the last 2 appetizers came out as we were finishing off our main courses. Was told not to worry about it bc we would not be charged. NOT the point. Burger not edible… tasted like salt had been poured in it. Pot roast looked disgusting and mashed potatoes were brown. Didn’t offer desserts(not like we would have gotten any). Horrible service. Only caught our severs name (Celeste) when we were walking out bc her manager was calling after her about something. Manager also could tell that we were not happy but never came over. Horrible experience, horrible food, horrible service.
FYI, we are in the restaurant industry. We own multiple concepts that average $28k weekly. Full service so we are very understanding of the industry… no passes here. Multiple opportunities to pivot and correct but didn’t even care. Here is a photo of the slimy pot roast and brown mashed potatoes. The burger immediately was sent back and was never offered...
Read moreTried a new restaurant after shopping at the Walmart there. It was about 3pm, not busy. Hostess needs training for her position. 1 - Ordered a chicken dish with bacon gravy, mashed potatoes and green beans. Chicken was dry and stringy, not good. The rest was okay at best. 2 - Ordered a chicken quesadilla & french fries. The quesadilla (its quite small for the price) was sliced peppered chicken breast with some salsa. Not sure if it had cheese. French fries were barely warm, they had more of a reheated way about them. Maybe been in the warmer too long? (Not fresh), also ordered a skewer of “cilantro lime” “jumbo” (what the waitress said) shrimp to try the shrimp. They were not jumbo, more like a medium, and there was absolutely nothing cilantro lime about it but it was salted and heavy with black pepper. $8 for a skewer of 5 medium shrimp! If they’d been cilantro lime AND jumbo I could see $8 but they were not that, at all. Except for two very small rolls (they were doughy in the middle) and the shrimp, nothing was hot. The butter for the rolls did not smell good, had a bad smell. With tip, $45. Definitely not worth it. The waitress was friendly, the hostess was not. First time there, also our last. I generally don’t leave reviews like this but this was note worthy. You’d do good to go somewhere else. It’s not...
