I've been here twice and both of my experiences where thoroughly disappointing. My first time there, we waited for 5 minutes at the counter before someone actually came to take our order. Several of the girls rolled their eyes and walked away from my family. My husband wasn't able to even order a bagel because we were told the toasted had been turned off, even if he wanted it plain and untoasted we were told we couldn't even to that. We ordered a London Fog, Raspberry Tea latte with vanilla, a peppermint iced tea with vanilla, and a water for the baby. When we told them that the 1 year old needed a Styrofoam cup instead of glass, the lady who waited on had an attitude about only having plastic and not styrofrom. Our iced tea came out luke warm with no ice and no vanilla. My husband's London Fog had no vanilla or honey and I was told when I went to correct it that "a traditional London Fog does not came with vanilla". Please go to any other shop and inform them that it's incorrect. Or any recipe online. I was told, after ordering and paying for my tea latte that I couldn't have it because the milk was curdling and it was impossible. Treyla was the young lady who came out and told me that she wasn't and couldn't do it. Not only do i make this drink at home, but it's one of my go to's at any new place so I am perplex as to what was done differently. I opted to just get a regular hot tea I was told I could brew it 2 more times. I wanted my second brew to go since the baby was getting fussy and my husband was told that a hot tea cannot be made to go. A hot tea can't be made to go? He was argued with for 5 minutes before someone finally said they would do it. We left pretty upset about the event. The second time it was just me and my husband. I got a vanilla frappe with a floating shot and Carmel macchiato. The lady who helped us fought with us about the espresso versus 'toddy' in the frappe despite me saying a number of times I wanted both. My husband got a Carmel latte instead of a macchiato which we had to get remade for not only being the wrong drink, but having burnt shots. When we asked if we could have it remade, my husband even offered to pay the difference if maybe it didn't get rang up right or if it was our fault, we were met with eye rolls and attitude. The ascetic of black water is nice and the whip cream is good. But the girls attitude and constant problems with our drinks is why we won't be returning. That and the general lack of health concerns with none of the girls having their hair pulled back while working with...
Read moreThis place is not perfect, but the coffee earned it a solid 5 stars. My partner got an americano & I got a decaf lavender latte, intending to sit and savor them, but they were so good our cups were empty in about 5 minutes. I was hesitant about ordering the lavender shot, because I am finicky about things being too sweet, but I love lavender and couldn't resist giving it a try. It was heavenly: not too sweet, just a clear, woody note from the lavender, followed by the smooth, darker flavor of the coffee. The milk was frothed velvety and not too hot, just how I think it oughta be. I would go there and get one every weekend if I lived within 300 miles of the place, but, alas. A few quirks of the place include its food options, which we found weren't available after 2pm except for some very weird (though tasty) scones. I don't know what their baker is doing exactly, but the thing they produced bore only the faintest resemblance to a scone in that it was cut in the shape of a triangle. Mind you, we ate it up to the last crumb, cuz we were hungry & the flavor was good, but it was just odd, texture-wise. There are a couple of little hipster-adjacent pretensions to the place, but nothing off-putting. The mugs are a lovely size and shape, but it made us laugh when we realized they were ceramic mugs artificially distressed to look like old enamel ones, & the sugar dispensers really do have to be seen to be believed (unfortunately, I don't know how much longer they'll be around, as they seem to be good at dispensing sugar literally everywhere except INTO your cup). Overall, I feel a deep affection for this place, & really hope it's still around and thriving the next time I'm in...
Read moreI have been here several times since moving here October 2022. 7/10 times the staff has been nice and helpful! A few times my drink was rang up wrong so I nicely corrected them and they seemed irritated that I didn’t want the wrong drink rang up incase of a price difference. Another time I was noticed they were out of a flavor syrup I like but was notified rudely in my opinion. Today I paid over $10 for a large iced breve, because of adding 2 flavors I guess. It’s just overpriced for no reason, which is sad because it’s one of the only decent coffee shops in Clovis. However, I just can’t justify paying over $10 for a coffee just because it’s an extra charge for 1/2 and 1/2, and the added flavors. So unfortunately I will not be going back.
Be careful if you order online because it was trying to charge me an extra $2.75 for making it large and iced!
Other than this, the coffee shop atmosphere is nice and calm. It’s definitely the nicest coffee shop in this town as far as that.
My reason for giving 3 stars is that it’s average to me, considering the overpricing of their drinks. 5 would be if it was the best of the best (as best as you can get in Clovis anyways), 4 would be...
