Cozy, well cared for space, with a family feel. The wonderful spiced aroma, embraced upon entering. Many menu options to choose from. Perfectly cooked naan bread. Strongly seasoned sauces, as they should be. (The medium spiciness was just as expected. The hotter spice would be best for those who are desiring that hot Indian spice level. If you're not sure, start with the basics.) Portion sizes are just right. We left with leftovers for another meal. Diverse atmosphere. Kind and happy employees. Family friendly if the kids like Indian food. (I only say that because I personally wouldn't want to sit next to kids that react to an unpleasant experience if they don't care for Indian food.) Foods ordered: Iced Chai Tea with milk • I expected a stronger tea. Chicken Tikka Masala • Flavor excellent, a thicker sauce than I'm used to. Basmati Rice • Well cooked, on the dryer side. Balances with the sauce. Garlic Basil Naan • Exceeded expectations. Lightly charred in all the right places. Mild basil herbs, basil flavor didn't come through. Next time I'd just order the garlic naan. • Basmati Rice pudding (I forgot the name... Kheer?) Seemed like a family recipe. Pleasant. Also, included was a large pitcher of great tasting ice water. Side note: Easy, free plaza parking. Didn't experience any trouble with others regarding masks, or personal space. (I don't like drama.) Clean restrooms. Easy menus. Alcohol options were simple: beer and white/red wines. Bottom Line: would definitely go again. Worth the cost. History: Have Indian friends, many food experiences in Los Angeles.

For those who had never been to Slice of India, please read on; for those of you who had been to the restaurant, I think you can resonate on my experience. The first time me and my family dined in at Slice of India, frankly we were a little intimidated by the lady who tend to our table. She was stern and did not smile during our conversation, and we thought she was mad or in a bad mood. When the food arrive, we were surprised by how good everything tasted. The portions are big and we tried our best to finish as much as we can (since food was SO GOOD) but we had to take some home. We return again and again shortly after and we get more acquainted with the lady who serve us every time we visited. She is a very nice and kind person with a strong personality. She always provided prompt service and provided great recommendations as well. Interior of this place clean and well organized, and it was decorated similarly to a typical Indian restaurants. From our past experience, only suggestion I have is it’d be great if the wait time for food can be shortened. However, I know that all orders are made fresh and that’s probably why it took some time for each order to be prepared. Overall, great food, clean interior, combined with prompt service, I’d recommend anyone to give Slice of India a try.

Wow. This is now my favorite Indian place and I don't even live anywhere near it. It was Happy's in Ripon, CA for the last year+ because of the sheer amazing taste, but I think these folks have Happy's beat (met the owner\chef, really nice this past week, as he checked on us and made sure all was good). Ordered Chicken Tikka Masala extra spicy, some chicken pakora, rice and garlic naan. Normally, when a curry is really spiced up, some of the amazing flavors that normally fire off all taste bud cylinders go by the way-side some since it can overwhelm a bit. Not theirs. It was off the charts flavorful and had all kinds of goodness in the kick. Had a really nicer thicker consistency and solid quality tender chicken too. Sauces for the Chicken Pakora were also on point, as was the garlic naan, and rice, nothing special average there, but no issues. Happy's in Ripon, there Pakora is a bit more robust in size, but flavor profiles very similar. This is now on my short list when visiting friends in Clovis. YUM! Also, the staff and owner were very humble, kind and served our party very nicely! :)

Very unprofessional service. This is an incident from July 2, 2022. Visiting Fresno, we came to this place for dinner. 20 minutes in and no table service. Then, an Indian waitress came by and apologized for the delay since a waiter was off-duty and the restaurant was busy ( from what we observed, there were 2 other tables apart from us). We said that’s not a problem and began ordering. Disclaimer: The rest of this review is really about the service from the waitress and might not reflect the quality of service from other waiters. We ordered a bunch of items (appetizers, beverage, curry and breads) and the waitress said that 1 curry wouldn’t suffice for the table (we were 3 adults) - she forced us to order more 3 times. We said we will order later if required. That’s when the fiasco started - the waitress insisted we order right away and that we will not be allowed to order later (the restaurant had 3 good hours to close). We then said we will be fine with what we ordered already and she forced us to order more. Then she commented that it is worthless for her to wait the table when such quantities are ordered and made a face with a “go to hell” expression. This was, by far, the rudest service we have gotten in our lives. We cancelled the order and left. Amidst all this, there was a party of 6 that came in and was impolitely chased out of the restaurant quoting “busy” and “can’t handle” by the same waitress. There were empty tables available. For what it’s worth, take your business to “Curry out Clovis” in the same area - same cuisine, less pricey but wonderful...
