Ten Tavern — Restaurant in Clovis

I'm not even sure where to start this review. As soon as we walked in, we should have walked out. But, we were trying the place out for the first time, so we wanted to give it a chance.

There was some boys sports team there. They took up a few tables, while the parents took up a few others. There was also a high top table taken up by 4 young girls with that same group. They were loud, running around, in and out ... and 2 parked themselves at the bar seating to watch whatever football game was in. (Is that legal??) They even almost knocked over waitstaff carrying things. Parents just sat there drinking and talking.

Our food took a long time. Pizza was undercooked and incorrect. We ordered a cheese pizza with sausage and mushrooms. We got a flimsy pizza with some cheese on it. They grilled up sausage and mushrooms and brought it out about 10 minutes later. The tater toys were very salty. Patty melt was ok. Staff said the kitchen was all messed up because of the group.

I usually give service staff the benefit of the doubt, but I just can't at this place. We waited a long time to get a to-go box, and then over half an hour for our check. We were given a small discount for our wait, but the experience was not good and the volume in the restaurant gave us headaches.

Despite being there much longer than planned, that group was still there with no plans on leaving when we left. We did not see one manager speak to this group about the kids running around and disturbing other patrons, so I do feel they bear some...

Tried this place for the first time tonight and was very disappointed. The service was a extremely lack luster and the food was subpar. Our poor experience started when the the main entrees came out. They were brought to us by another server, who just dropped off the food. The moment my wife tried her fries they were cold and rock hard like they had been sitting out for hours. We assumed our waitress would come by to check on us and we would tell her than so we started to eat the other food we ordered. We waited for our waitress to come by to inform her but she never came to check on us. I flagged down a few other waiters asking them to send our waitress by but to no avail. Finally, I asked a 3rd server and explained that my wife's food was stale and we would really would have loved to got that remedied at the beginning of our meal but we have waited so long we are just ready for a check. About 5 mins later our waitress came to the table. No apologies or concerns where shown or brought up. She just said "they said you ask three people to come over but no one told me to come by." I just explained again how the food was poor quality and how we tried to inform her at the beginning of the meal (20 mins earlier) but now we are ready for the check. She got us the check in less than 1 min but never apologized or made any effort to help us. She just said when she brought the check, that she was busy waiting tables. We paid and left, not one employee tried to remedy the poor food or the even poorer...
