I could easily say 5 stars, just needs a few minor changes and this place would be amazing….. small small small changes.
Food was good on the verge of great, my daughter’s pancake was very fluffy and good size. I’d rate it 10 out of 10 My older daughter had biscuits and gravy. Flavor was good and the plating was beautiful, but skimpy on the gravy, need about 20% more gravy. My wife had the American plate, scrambled eggs, bacon, , absolutely delicious potatoes, and toast. A good plate could use some more seasoning on eggs loved the fresh bread. I had their Christmas Burrito, I Highly recommend” this was absolutely delicious burrito. I had never had a wet breakfast burrito before. They nailed it.!! The salsa had a hint of heat, but nothing to complain about. It was the perfect a mount of food for me. Our server was good attentive and focused. Took our order fast and answered all questions quickly. He was kid friendly, my youngest is tough and he made a few attempts to interact. Good job.
I wish the restaurant was larger, seems to be a popular choice, we waited 20 minutes for a table, servers and customers are constantly walking by your table regardless of where you sit.
The drinks are good, with a decent variety. It’s 5 o’clock somewhere is a good old-fashioned. And the desperate housewife cocktail was delicious and did the trick.
Their menu was simple, I wish they offered eggs Benedict crêpes hashbrowns or something along those lines, I think they had more alcoholic drinks offered than breakfast items lol.
All in all great place, a few tweaks and it’s...
Read moreSo thankful I got to enjoy Yolked Kitchen midweek instead of a busy weekend because there was no wait and we got to enjoy a slow paced brunch! The ambiance was bright and clean, with simple decor and a tight space with a layout that accommodates quite a bit of people but not large groups. I liked that they have a bar you can sit at, which adds a fun dining experience/option. The menu is simple but with an array of sweet and savory options and with moderate portions. I ordered the Cen Cal Taco and I wouldn't change a thing about it, it was 10/10 delicious! Beans, bacon, potatoes, tri tip, salsa, cilantro and a fried egg on a homemade flour tortilla! So savory with the perfect texture and just the right size to be filling but not over the top. We also got the Netflix and Chilliquiles - refried beans with scrambled eggs, homemade tortilla chips, and salsa. Just so you know, the chef is particular about his dishes and does not do modifications, so although we asked about changing the eggs from scrambled to over easy, this was not an option. Overall, the dish was well seasoned and the tortilla chips held up nicely. The salsa was fresh and bright and balanced out the heaviness of the beans really well. The service was great and there were always employees walking around ready to take plates and bring more water bottles as needed. They have a full cocktail menu as well which I didn't partake in this time around, but would love to try in the future. Overall, I had a great experience, mostly because that taco was amazing, and I look forward to...
Read moreSo this place has been on my bucket list since rumors starting popping up that 13 Prime & Executive Chef Tommy Chavez were up to something.
Well if you like breakfast or you don't this place will make you a believer.
Ambience is pretty relaxed with optional seating at the bar and even the patio out back along the trail. We opted for the patio since we didn't want to wait any longer.
Service was exceptional with no issue at all, very attentive and not overwhelming either.
For food we went with a seasonal drink "Cupids Kiss" and a "All the Works" Bloody Mary., I couldn't resist even though a Old Fashioned on the menu was calling my name. Four our meals we went with a B&G "Biscuits & Gravy" and I went with the "Netflix & Chill a quiles"
I will be honest I usually don't order chilaquiles because most places either over sauce them or let them sit under a heat lamp for awhile making the tortilla chips soggy. So I did hesitate. But don't if that's what you like, they came out perfectly crunchy all the way to the last bite, not sure how they pulled that off. The sunny side egg on top was the crown jewel though, because that is my daily struggle to find in a restaurant or even for me at home even with my many years in the restaurant business.
So yea, don't sleep on this place and don't mind the wait outside,...
