Over priced and over hyped. The food is too expensive for what you get, with very mediocre flavor. Since they didn't take reservations, we tried three times to get in and finally had an opportunity when there wasn't a 45 minute wait. The two drinks we ordered were out of stock. The atmosphere does not feel authentic, and feels like more of a fast food or diner type restaurant. I paid $16 for 3 flour tortillas with 4 shrimp on them. In Mexico the same thing would have cost $5 max, and at least given me onions and cilantro and maybe a couple other toppings. There was enough pico to go in one taco. The other dish we got tasted like it had come from a Chinese restaurant. Overall, very poor experience with this place and unfortunately not an authentic Mexican restaurant what so ever. That staff is nice though, and it's a great spot if you want to bring your screaming kids as there was a lot of that

Location is easy to get to with open parking. We were sat quickly, but things slowed down after that. A few minutes later we had tortilla chips and salsa dropped off at the table (salsa 5/10) and shortly after someone came for drink orders. After drinks were dropped off (the sangria was nothing special, no fruit either btw), it took a while for our server to return. Around 10 minutes before he came to take our order. We ordered table side guacamole which was tasty but arrived at the same time as our meals did. Not a huge deal. Service improved throughout our meal with refills handled timely and we were checked on frequently. We had a tres leches cake dessert which was tasty as well. Overall, food was good, location is clean. We spend over $105 for a party of 4 with one alcoholic drink, a guacamole appetizer and dessert aside from our entrees.

Opening week. Dark interior. Black booths. Authentic Spanish speaking which was great but translation problems not just at my table. I speak Spanish. The service was sporadic which is the kind of way of saying challenging. They give you a basket full of tortilla chips which were great overflowing with salsa. What's the first thing I had was the street corn. I would not order it again. It wasn't at all what I expected and it wasn't hot . It was supposed to be steaming hot. You do get 4. The queso with cheese and sausage was excellent, piping hot. Forget the churros dessert. Smothered in fake whipped cream, it was uneditable. The four churros could barely be found in the whipped cream and they were cold. They're supposed to be served warm. It actually made me question why they would even think that was appetizing or attractive?

The quality of the food is reflected in the price, which is low. This is not Mexican food, it is some of the ingredients involved in Mexican food assembled in a bland, low-quality way, with very low quality ingredients. I am truly so sad, because I was excited and people, presumably with no taste buds, left good reviews. My solution for the owners is to come up with an authentic menu of like 5 or 6 items where you clearly state that these are made in a Mexican fashion and do not allow alterations. If these items exist currently on the menu, maybe point them out? That way you can cater to the people who want the experience you already provide, whilst still allowing for some more authentic options. I want to be proactive and helpful because I do believe this restaurant could be good, I don't like to complain with no solution. The waitstaff and everyone who worked at the restaurant is absolutely lovely. We got a table really quickly which I also appreciated. The atmosphere was nice, my friends and I enjoyed the environment. Usually music is blaring and the music was a great volume. I hate writing bad reviews especially because I spent very little money but really the food is not Mexican, either re-brand to be a Moes/Agave or put some real Mexican food on the menu, with ingredients that aren't straight off the frozen Sysco truck. Again - our waitstaff was lovely. I so badly wanted this restaurant to be good :-( I...

We had a group of 10 eager to experience Casa Real. We try a new restaurant every Friday as a group and the idea of an authentic Mexican food restaurant was thrilling.

I called a week prior to set a reservation and was politely told they do not accept reservations but, we were welcome to come in at 8pm, Friday, December 29th and accommodations would be made to seat our group.

I was immediately let down by how rude and dismissive the Host was. After patiently waiting around 30 minutes, we were told they could seat 5 of our group but the other 5 had to wait.

15 minutes later, the second half of our group was sat, well away from the first group.

The booths were extremely uncomfortable for large men and there was little room to allow for comfort. One member who stands 5’ 5” had the booth table at his chest.

The service began with a smile and everything went well until the entrees were served. The food was bland and mushy.

Before we were half way through our meal, the Server asked if he could bring our checks.

When a group member said he would prefer not be asked to pay for his meal before he was half way through eating his meal. The Server smiled and called him a slur, in Espanol. Thankfully, that member did not understand Espanol. However. I grew up in Texas and I understood perfectly!

Not comfortable seating. Rude Host. Unprofessional Server. Overcooked entrees. Flavorless menu. A...

We arrived to find an hour wait. Everyone in line said well worth it. So we decided to stay. We were not invited to go to the bar to wait. It was not until we were inside did we even realize there was a bar you could wait in.

When we were called to our table we were excited to see what all the fuss was about. We were handed our menu, provided chips, salsa and dipping cups. The salsa was good and the chips were authentic.

Our waiter came back about 10 minutes later to get or drink order. We each decided on a flight of margaritas. The menu said we could choose the flavors but the waiter left without our choices. The drinks arrived with no explanation of flavors. While each tasted different and good, no discernable flavor was evident for any.

The waiter took our orders (I ordered a taco meal) which arrived 5 minutes later and only tacos. No pico de Gallo or rice or beans as noted in the menu. We never saw our waiter again until he came with the check.

There was no rolling guacamole cart (as advertised). In fact, there was no guacamole anywhere. It was not clear it needed to be ordered separately or asked for specifically.

The food was good but not great. Better than fast food Mexican but having experienced Mexican food in the same region this claims to be from, it missed the mark. Perhaps it was what was ordered or that they were busy, but overall I was...
