Vermont Bagel Company — Restaurant in Colchester

I’m not the type of person to write reviews but today had me so aggravated that I can’t finish my night without doing so. Food? Food was great. Customer service? TRASH, Disrespectful, miserable. I’ve been a loyal customer for some time now. Today I had someone make my sandwich that hadn’t ever made them before. So where to start.

FRom the START of the transaction she was rushing me, she was rolling her eyes, mad that I ordered 4 things. I was a a manager at McDonald’s for years, so I know about busy and fast paste. But the first thing you don’t do is give your customers attitude or negative facial expressions.

I ordered a sandwich and requested vegetables that didn’t come on it. The lady kept repeating her self rudely “make sure you tell them you got 5 extra veggies on each sandwich… okay fine, they cost extra I understand no problem. But for you to keep repeating it then yelling across to the cashier that I got 5 veggies on each and told her my whole order but forgot to say a power sandwich, then when it came time to my food, she said “I didn’t make that bc you didn’t tell her you ordered it… well you told her my whole order and made sure to not leave the veggies out but forgot to say the power sandwich it was my fault? This women made me feel low. She treated me like trash. And this review won’t seeem as serious as it was in person. But I’m furious, and to the lady who did this. You made this company loose a very LOYAL customer all because you were miserable and disrespectful. Be ashamed for the way you treated me today.

PS if your going to charge for extra veggies have sign up bc that’s misleading and very unprofessional not a single sign up anywhere saying extra veggies cost...

I raved about this place when they first opened ... its not anything AMAZING. but it’s not BAD... the young ladies up front however would be on the CON list for the store when you walk up a greeting/smile or any acknowledgment Is non exsistant . There’s one young lady that trumps them ALL with the grumpy I don’t want to be here face she has dark thin long hair and she’s not as thin as the other girls ( no name tags) she’s a grinch ... as for the food I did find a blonde hair ( I have short dark brown hair ) in one of my sandwiches at the last second totally grossed out !! Hair nets should be used without a doubt ... then there’s the FAKE egg which you get a huge slab off on your sandwich not impressed.. bagel selection great meat...

I couldn't be leaving a better review. I visit frequently and time and time again I am left feeling perfectly fulfilled and happy. This place definitely earns my perspective of it being the most reliable, delicious, quality with consistency, and all around best spot to grab a quick breakfast/ lunch meal. My go to is the Melted Maple paired with the Montreal Spice bagel and it is beyond words decadent and luscious. 10/10 must try. Even now that I've moved away from Winooski/Colchester I always still find a reason to hop right off that highway. This is the reason.
