Maki Asian Bowls offers some of the most delicious and best prepared food I've ever tasted.

Unfortunately there is a trade for the taste. You are nearly guaranteed to have bathroom issues after eating here. I'm not sure what they add to the food to make it so good but it definitely comes with bowel irritation.

Normally I would only tack off one star for bodily response. The greatest offense for my harsh review is my most recent experience. My party and I were the only patrons in the restaurant at the time of our dinner. Yet we waited 30 minutes after completing our meal to be given our checks. We were not addressed for service after receiving our food - at all.

The final nail in the coffin for my 2-star rating is the subtle racism inflicted on my group. My non-white friend was given chop sticks with no fork with his meal. Every caucasian member of the table were to use forks.

Sadly, I will not be returning to...

Maki Asian Bowls was absolutely delicious. My son (10 years old) had gone here a year ago while visiting my parents here in NoKY, and he insisted that we go back for my birthday. It had been a year, and he is young, so I think we all kind of questioned whether or not it was as good as his memory was telling him. We obliged him and went for my 47th birthday with my parents and my daughter (12 years old), and all I can say is WOW. The ramen (which we all had different versions of) was tremendous. The bubble tea (that my kids just love) was fantastic. The service was prompt and friendly. I live in New Orleans and have access to a lot of good food, but this ramen, and at this affordable price, is better than anything I’ve had at home. Do yourself a favor and GO! I cannot say it enough…GO! Don’t wait! GO!!! 10/10 Thank you, Maki, for making a lovely birthday...

We got the Tonkotsu ramen, two appetizers and orange chicken. It was a cold fall night and I was in the mood for some good soup. First, the egg rolls were really big and very delicious. The crab puffs were good but very similar to other places.

Now to the entres. The ramen bowl had very unique flavors to me. I imagine that this is the traditional flavors. I love trying new flavors and this had a gentle spicyness and subtle herbs. It wasn’t as salty as our American food so it took me time to adjust. Worth it.

The orange chicken wasn’t as sticky sweet as what we’re used to and I loved it.

It was refreshing to taste the food rather than something laced with so much salt and sugar you can’t distinguish...

Nice Japanese style atmosphere. I got the Korean Fried Chicken and the Chicken Teriyaki. The Korean Fried Chicken sauce was one of the best I've had in flavor and spice. There wasnt much sauce on the chicken like the picture on the menu showed but with a little more sauce it would be great. The Teriyaki Chicken was great. Perfect amount of food for the price and the chicken, rice, and Teriyaki sauce were all great in flavor. I wish the vegetables were a little more steamed but highly recommended the dish. Would reccomend the dishes served over rice.

Very salty and tough meat. I lived in Japan for 4 years, had katsudon in Japan and America many times, it's one of my favorite dishes. I couldn't finish this; I've never had soupy katsudon. Besides the katsudon my wife ordered ramen, which wasn't ramen but buckwheat noodles. The broth was also very salty. She couldn't finish her meal. The atmosphere was ok, maybe other things are better, but we don't have any plans to return any time soon.
