China Cafeteria — Restaurant in College Park

I’m annoyed I had to even give one star. My family used to eat here but quit years ago because the food got nasty; someone said give it another shot and I can now say for certain that in the time period I stayed away the food somehow incredibly got even worse than I remembered which was already pretty terrible. I got the egg foo young. It tasted like nothing. I could not differentiate any of the ingredients in the patty. The cool part was that even though it was flavorless, one part had lots of flavor. The burned parts. Which accounted for the bottom of the patty and sides so if you enjoy tasting gristle this meal would’ve been right up your alley. I took 3 bites and then threw it in the trash for the raccoons. I bought a second dinner which was much better. Attn. Update below! I love this place. The food is always great. You get a lot for a little. How amazing is that. I would love to give this amazing place 5 stars but the food this day (pictured) in particular didn't sit well with my taste buds. Ive never had a problem here. It's just that when i tasted the food it had a weird taste and it was unsatisfying. I hope the next visit will be like the ones before. Still love this place.

I really liked this place. Very inexpensive considering what food costs in 2024. Specials are usually in the $5-7 range, which is awesome and allowed me to get 2 for a sane price. I have the General Chicken and the Mandarin Chicken, both of which were really good. What I like about this place is that it reminds me of good takeout places I went to in college, but it doesn't "taste like every other Chinese place". You know how lots of restaurants seem to use the same orange sauce? Not this place, it was different in all the right ways. The man that dished up my order was very nice and helpful for newbies that haven't been there before. Next time I'm in town I'll definitely be back. Keep up...
