Delicious! Five out of Five!
I am pleased in knowing that I didn’t allow the mixed-reviews to prevent me from patronizing this establishment.
Lost in da Souse definitely lives up to their Instagram hype. I was passing through the south side and as I’m approaching Old National Hwy, I thought to myself- I should check out this “lost in da souse” kitchen. I googled the address; about 0.7 miles from the interstate. I arrived at opening time (which is generally the start of lunch-time) The customers were rolling in; hence, to save me time, I placed my order online by way of “Clover.” My order was ready the exact time that Clover said it would be.
I ordered the $10.00 lunch special (1 slider, 3 wings and I upgraded my fries for loaded- $5.00 additional up charge) totaling $15.00. To be honest-considering the vast amount of negative comments, I was a bit apprehensive about ordering anything beyond the lunch special (it’s the least expensive meal on the menu)
Let’s dive into the main reason why you’re here. The hamburger slider is delicious. The hamburger slider is prepared on a Buttery Brioche slider bun with a sweet and tangy sauce; Absolutely Finger licking good. I ordered the hot-honey flavored wings. They were delicious; yet small, which is fine for me. The loaded fries were decent (imitation bacon bits- I’m unsure of the type of cheese sauce they use) nonetheless, tasty.
After my experience today; I’m curious to know why their reviews are in shambles. I understand every individual has varying flavor receptors in their taste buds but I’m starting to think some of the negative reviews are out of spite.
Lost in da Souse has gained a customer- As long as they remained Consistent with taste...
Read moreInstagram is truly not reality. I saw this business while driving but decided to finally give it a try after seeing their “success” on instagram. Upon entering, there was an interesting smell, the place was dirty and half put together, and no one was up front to greet us. We could hear what appeared to be the owner reprimanding a female employee in the back. We called for someone to assist us after waiting and the two emerged from the kitchen. When we attempted to ask questions about the menu the owner responded with an unwarranted attitude saying things like “either you get it or you don’t.” He also said “it’s just 4 quarters” when referring to paying for the “lost sous” that he said you could not pay for a side order for and it could only be placed on your food for the payment of $1. Why would any logical being purchase a sauce to be added to their food without knowing the taste or if they will enjoy it? He also responded with the either you get it or you don’t when we asked how it tasted. The experience was so horrible that we had to walk out instead of ordering food. This is a horrible business with uneducated leadership and poor customer service. We will never return to this business and I don’t suggest anyone waste their time. No one wants to eat at a hole in the wall fraction of a restaurant and be treated poorly by the establishment’s owner. I’d suggest consulting with some real professional to elevate this business and especially for customer experience. That suggestion wouldn’t matter though because it’s clear the owner lacks...
Read moreI went in on April 19, 2024 drove over an hour to get the pork souse just for them to tell me they didn't have any available. But I wouldn't have driven that far if they would have picked up the phone. No matter how many times you call no one pick up. When I got there at about 2:30 that evening they said they where cooking it I asked the young lady at the counter how long it would be before it was ready and she told me about an hour. I left and ran errands for over 2 hours just to come back that night for them to say they wouldn't have it at all that day. I tried to call back again and no one picked up. Then they want to record for items they promote but don't have. I then order a large chicken souse for 50 dollars and it only had chicken no potatoes, corn or anything else in it! just boiled chicken. I would have give it a zero but the chicken souse did taste pretty good just to be a cup full of boiled chicken. Parking was difficult because they only have about 20 parking spots and people are coming from out of state or driving long distance to get souse and the pork...
