BEWARE OF HIDDEN CHARGES!!!!!!
Last sunday my family and I decided to have dinner at Sakura we have the most horrible experience, our group was of 8 people and at the time of payment they charged almost $16.00 MORE without ask or say anything they didn't give the receipt with details they only gave the card's receipt. When we asked why they were charging us more is when they gave us the receipt and we discovered the HIDDEN EXTRA CHARGE The cashier explained to us that for a group of six or more they add the tip to the bill. I told him that it seems good to me, but what it does not seem good to me is that they have charged me without telling me. He said ok and when to talk to the waitress I don't know what they were saying because they were speaking in their language. After that the waitress started to be so rude, we always leave $5 tip per per person and we were 8 people so she will get $40 tip but she was so mean even she didn't bring the fortune cookies because I believe she thought we won't give her tip because they already charged $16 tip on the bill so she didn't see any reason to bring the cookies. I aks her: "Can you bring the cookies because we going to leave soon?" She say "yes" in a rude manner and stared talking with another waitress again in their language and looking us making faces. So she never bring the cookies and we decided to leave without giving her more tip. The amount of money that we paid that day was $174 I believe everyone deserves to be treated with respect specially when you going to eat, it has to be in peace.
We never going to come back...
Read moreToday was my first time coming back here after several years and it was okay, but definitely needs some improvements. The food selection was decent and we went on a Saturday night so they had a decent crowd and a good turnover on their food trays. The hibachi was the best thing. One of my usual Chinese buffet favorites, the stuffed crab shell, was disappointing here. It lacked flavor and meat. According to the people at my table, the crabs today were meaty and sweet and the oysters were fresh as well. So Saturday evenings are probably best for fresh seafood. All the other food I had was average. Their deserts were not particularly good, but they had a good assortment of fruits which was nice. Service for plate removal and drink refills was good as well.
The biggest problem with this place is the atmosphere. The music is too loud. The floor all around the entrance up to the counter was sticky. The table was not cleaned well. Several of their high chairs were broken (missing straps... which is a huge safety liability), and the high chair they finally gave us that wasn't broken was filthy.
Their bathroom was dirty as well though I will give them props for closing it for cleaning later on.
Overall, this place is fine if you're looking for sheer quantity and mostly average food. But their cleanliness is lacking which makes you wonder whether that is also the case in the kitchen. If they did a better job keeping the public areas clean and maybe even updated their furniture, it would give a much better impression...
Read moreI recently visited Sakura Seafood Buffet in College Park, MD, and it was an incredible dining experience! From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the spacious and inviting atmosphere. The decor is modern and clean, making it a comfortable place to enjoy a meal.
The buffet selection was truly impressive, especially for seafood lovers! I was delighted to find a wide array of fresh options, including sushi, crab legs, shrimp, and various fish dishes. Everything was beautifully presented and tasted fantastic. The sushi was fresh and expertly made, with a variety of rolls to choose from.
In addition to seafood, there were plenty of other delicious options, including Asian dishes, grilled meats, and a variety of sides. The stir-fried vegetables and dumplings were particularly noteworthy!
The staff was attentive and friendly, ensuring our drinks were always filled and that we had everything we needed. The atmosphere was lively but not overwhelming, making it a great spot for both families and friends gathering together.
For dessert, I highly recommend trying the mochi and the assorted pastries! They were the perfect sweet finish to a fantastic meal.
