College Park Dog Park (Members Only) — Attraction in College Park

Have been a member for several years and not impressed with the level of upkeep. Gate latches break and would only require a simple repair to fix but remain broken. Grass cutting schedule is a nightmare and mosquitos and ticks will happen. Contacted the management about my concern after finding a tick on my dog and the response from them was basically, "deal with it". Other owners also do not always show respect by feeding dogs treats without checking with you first.

I don't mind the membership fee as it is very small, but don't see any benefit of this over the others in the area that are free in Hyattsville, Riverdale, Greenbelt, and now in College Park at the new Hollywood Dog park. Even though I am still a member I will not be returning to College...

The website is very confusing and so is the name. They call it a "park" but "park" implies that the area is state-run. The fences are locked with a code and say "members only", which directs you to their website, which requires a $30 annual fee for the privilege of some fenced in grass which is surrounded by non-fenced in grass. Not ideal for people who are just visiting. I can see why this park is dead. The website repeatedly states in the mission statement and TOS state that they work with the parks planning commission for the state of maryland, yet it is unclear if MD's citizens are paying with their tax dollars for a park they can't use, or if the park is privately owned with the wording of a state-run park specifically to...

I came by College Park for a bite with my Puppy and wanted to take him to a nearby dog park and this park was closest. It was a total waste of time coming here and finding out it that it was a membership only dog park. When searched in Google, it did not say anything about having to have membership. I'm sure many people come by here when they are out and around with their dogs; only to find they can't get in without a membership and code. It should have stated "membership only dog park" when being searched on Google or any other app. This would help non-member dog owners from any inconveniences into...
