This hotel experience was a nightmare. The front desk staff were rude from the beginning. The hotel smelled of cigarette smoke, it was dirty, and had roaches everywhere. They crawled on the table tops and up and down the walls. When reported and asked for assistance from the from desk, the manger was called and I was told that we had to wait until Monday to speak with her. I shared that we were from out of town, this was a Saturday and that we would not be in Maryland on Monday. The manager hung up, refused to provide a refund, even after I showed her video footage of the roaches crawling on the walls. The front desk staff lied and told me that they were booked and had no more rooms and that I would have to stay in that room. I informed her that I would not stay in a room with roaches or at that hotel any longer and asked for a refund. I further stated that I paid in good faith and that I deserved a refund. I also informed her that my son, had asthma and could not be around roaches and their droppings due to it being a health hazard. The front desk staff turned her back on me, sat in the chair, crossed her legs and proceeded to ignore me. We gathered our belongings proceeded to leave the hotel and witnessed her booking more people into rooms as I left. The staff continued to be rude throughout the entire ordeal.

The place overall is pretty decent, but there is this lady at the front desk that acts as though she doesn’t want to do her job. She can’t help with anything telling you to wait until the next day for a manager. It’s like she don’t want to help so she can go sit and be on her phone which is unacceptable when people come out of town paying hundreds of dollars for these rooms. I believe what’s making me upset about the situation is that I was trying to extend the room and put more money into the establishment. It just makes you want to look elsewhere….. And to put icing on the cake I go back in there to ask if they have any food places menus she tells me no to my face I turned around to walk out and see a couple of menus. I just really think she dislike her job and should find somewhere she would enjoy.

There were roaches.. I actually had to kill roaches in the room. Took 2hrs to check in, as the girl at the front desk wasn't trained in how to process payments booked by a 3rd party by my company. It really was a horrible experience. Please book someplace else if you can. The place was very dirty. There shouldn't be smears on the photos, or blood on the pillow cases. The smell was moldy.. I'll let the pictures I took, tell the rest of the story. I kept telling myself that I only had to tough it out until 2am for my flight.

To Whom it may concern, I made a reservation for the Super 8 Motel in College Park Reservation#86154EE033883 for one night. I am a National Park Service Ranger and was attending the National Tree Lighting Ceremony at the White House/Presidents Park, and had to be at the University of Maryland College Park the next day on official government business. I am also a 100% Service Connected Disabled Veteran which MUST be accompanied by a Service Animal At all times. My Service animal is specifically trained to assist me with my disabilities. On December 5th 2024, I at approximately 7:30pm, I attempted to check into the Super 8 By Wyndham College Park Washington DC area 9150 Baltimore Ave College Park, Maryland 20740. I was met by the hotel clerk “Lidet” who refused me service due to the presence of my service animal. She kept asking me for a “service dog registration” which I attempted to explain to her that those things are fraudulent and no such official certification exists. She refused to listen and took my drivers license compelling me to call the local police department. After the officers showed up, Lidet continued to refuse service to which the officers only could advise me that this was now a civil matter and that I would have to file in court. After a second attempt along with a letter from the Department of Veterans Affairs did she finally give me back my drivers license and issue me a room key. I was NOT required to present this letter as it clearly states in the Americans with Disabilities Act that, Service animals are not: Required to be certified or go through a professional training program or Required to wear a vest or other ID that indicates they’re a service dog. Further more under ADA guidance it states that, Hotel employees may ask: “Is the dog a service animal required because of a disability?” and “What work or task has the dog been trained to perform?” BUT hotel employes You are not allowed to: Request any documentation that the dog is registered, licensed, or certified as a service animal or Require that the dog demonstrate its task, or inquire about the nature of the person’s disability. Lidet insisted on seeing a card but could not tell me where the card would come from or what issuing agency either state or federal that the card would have originated from. I attempted to explain to her several times that she was breaking the law and this was a civil rights violation. However this did not work and the police department had to get involved. While I should have left the hotel it was getting late (this whole issue took over an hour to solve) and I had no other reservation anywhere else. However, just this incident qualifies as a civil rights violation and I will be notifying the US Department of Justice as well as the State of Maryland Civil Rights Violations Department. Your franchisee Super 8 is not obeying the law of the land and discriminating against persons with disabilities. I fought for this country in two wars and I do not expect to be...

This is by far the nastiest hotel/motel I've ever stayed in, in my ENTIRE life!

I understand the saying you get what you paid for but I figured considering the location and the competition of hotels around that it couldn't be that bad and I was very wrong. (Additionally if the room is not free I believe that it should be at least inhabitable.)

I booked this place for a friend which I accompanied to check in. First of all when we arrived to the room, the carpet was wet (YUCK!!!). We asked for another room which was going to take a few minutes so we left and came back. Upon our arrival back we were moved into a bigger room with a couch and all which was cool. (ok! shrugs shoulders)

Shortly after, we discovered there was a creature in the room :( A salamander to be exact!!! I mean really??? To top it off when we went down to the receptionist to report the salamander can you believe that she asked us if we brought it with us. TF??? I was beyond insulted. Instead of her to apologize and handle the situation professionally, she allowed that "tom-foolery" come out of her mouth. The place went from bad to worst really quick.

After maintenance came to remove/kill the creature (smh) with no other options my friend stayed the night (I quickly went home) The next day we decided to cancel the reservation and ask for a refund from Priceline.

The only problem now was the lack of professionalism, unapologetic nature and down right rude attitude of the receptionist and manager. I could not even believe it. I am generally a mild mannered person ( I mean life is too short to get mad over things and trust me I was never mad. I was just disgusted to tell the truth.)

Getting back to my story...with the refund now being processed my friend was asked to leave the room before checkout time. (which was cool and not a problem) The only problem now was that my friend was asked not to stay in the lobby because the cleaner needed to clean and mind you it was raining outside. Are you actually kidding me????

I was beyond beside myself at the way the management handled this situation. I have no words really to explain the lack of professionalism experienced that day. I understand no one should be held responsible for the salamander, but asking a "guest" who has decided to leave your establishment because it was down right nasty to get out of the lobby is uncalled for. Once I arrived I asked to see the manager which was in no way apologetic or even professional. With all of this being said, I do not recommend staying here. There are so many other affordable establishments in the area that actually care for their guests and are running a better well...

I wish there was a way to leave no stars or even negative stars. I booked this room online through a third party website. I travel with my dog so I knew I had to check the Pet Policies. Per the google search, the Agoda page, the website for the hotel... It's Pet Friendly. In fact the most popular amenity of this roach ridden hotel is that they allow Pets. I called ahead and spoke to the front dest agent. Upon arrival the agent asked for papers and I presented them, including shot records on my dog. Thursday this was. Friday, Saturday, Sunday and today at the time of this review 9:33 a.m. the front desk agent, rudely told me when I asked how much it would be to extend just one day because we're going to be here a little longer. This one, with all the attitude as if I just spit in her face-- We won't renew or extend you have dog. I said yes I do and I submitted everything, and your website says yo0u allow pets here. I have been here since Thursday and you were here over the weekend which you saw me and my beautiful, friendly, and to herself Siberian Husky.. You said nothing to me then. Can you call your manager? She then goes into a diatribe about it being a holiday, her manager called her to say I have a dog and can't extend and she's not calling her manager. I said excuse me, you just said the manager called you to tell I can't extend why the hell can you not call her/him to speak to me personally? I am now very much confused and no lie angry.. I say one moment. I walk away to get my laptop which I am typing on now in the lobby-- breakfast area? It's very ghetto here.. I bring my laptop and say again everything says you guys take pets, she says nothing says that your lying.. I said here I'll show you all the steps I went through to get to your hotel (thankfully I had not closed any pages or the browser since Thursday) and low and behold there it is Pet Friendly, Google, Trip Advisor, Agoda, and their website. Then I get on the phone with the customer care number and she's still telling them that the manager isn't available. Mind you she's on the phone with the manager as all of this is happening. DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU HAVE A PET. THEY FALSELY ADVERTISE THAT THEY ACCEPT PETS. THE PICS ONLINE AREN'T TRUE. IT SMELLS LIKE SOMETHIHNG FOUL. THE STAFF DOESN'T CLEAN THE ROOMS I'VE FOUND SEVERAL CIGARETTES IN MY NON-SMOKING ROOM. AND MOST OF THE STAFF IS NOT FRIENDLY-- UNFORTUNATELY they aren't American and speak limited English and while I applaud their hardwork they need a better job working for a better class of people. J.K.Holdings LLC is a JOKE beyond incompetent.|||If I could give negative...
