The Burger Place — Restaurant in College Park

I was in the area and we were starving. I came across The Burger Place on Yelp and decided to give it a try.

The restaurant is INSIDE the hotel so don’t get confused when driving into the parking lot. Also, you have to go through the hotel’s main entrance to get to the restaurant.

Upon walking in, the restaurant was very spacious and was super clean. The waiter/host/bartender was very lackluster, however, considering it was the end of the night, I can understand. Nonetheless, I sat at the bar and was provided a menu. Upon taking a look at the menu (which is limited in comparison to the other restaurants in the area), I was advised that there was No Wings, and No Caesar Dressing… Ok! Allow me to take a moment as a patron to say, I think it would have been a better experience had I been advised this upon being provided the menu opposed to as I am literally placing my order.

Me: “May I get an order of wings, we’ll done…” Waiter: “We’re out of wings!” Me: “May I get the Caesar Salad Waiter: “We’re out of Caesar Dressing! We only have burgers!”

At this point my experience at The Burger Place is less than pleasing, however, as I’m never against a good burger, I ordered “The BBQ Burger, well done”

It took a while for the burger to be ready, which I expected as I concluded the food was made to order as well as I asked for well done.

When my food arrived I was very pleased by the visual presentation. The burger was very meaty and the burger fixings were very fresh. Also, the potato wedges were a pleasant surprise and were perfectly done.

To my dismay, when I bit into my burger it was medium well. As you can imagine, based on my burger being medium well I was perplexed at the cause for the extended wait. Moving forward, I must admit that the burger was very well seasoned. The flavor profile of the burger was amazing and the quality of beef was good quality.

The worst Customer Service I have ever experienced!!! I stayed at the Hotel and wanted to stay in, so I went down to the restaurant to order a Burger with Cajun Fries. I went up to my room and realized they gave me sweet potato fries instead, so I went back down. They had already prepared Cajun Fries so they switched them out fairly quickly. I went back up to my room again to eat and now realized the burger was missing avocado and jalapeños which come with the burger. Also, the fries were way less than the original portion, probably because that is all they had left of the prepared cajun fries.

I was really annoyed at this point and 45 mins later. I went back down. The server seemed to not care about any of this at all. No apology, nothing. They were trying to reheat the burger and just slap the rest of the fixings on it but I asked for it to be remade as it two tries to get this simple order right and my food wasn't hot anymore.

I communicated that I think this is unacceptable and asked for a compensation but the server just asked me if I want my food and did not address any refund or compensation. I wish there would have been other food around but I was extremely hungry at this point, took my food and left.

They claimed they had remade my order but the fries were lukewarm, soggy, still the small amount from before and what they had served me 45 minutes prior to this disaster.

I would recommend anyone to stay away from this...

First walking in to the host stand we sat and waited for a while the girl kept looking at us but not addressing us or even telling us she would be right over. When she finally came over she told us they could only do Togo and gave us menus. The wait for the food wasn’t to bad but when I got to my room the cheese quesadilla that I ordered on the main menu came with chicken on it. I went back down to ask if I could have them remake it for me as I don’t eat meat. She told the kitchen immediately and we waited 20 minutes for two quesadillas with three ingredients. When I finally got my order there was barely anything in them and the tortillas were super hard. Needless to say I’m super disappointed and still hungry as I barely got any food. Also someone in our party ordered Buffalo wings and another ordered a burger. She said they were out of ketchup but she put the next best thing in there, thinking maybe it was ranch for the wings it was actually Italian dressing. Big...
