The room that we stayed in had a hole on the outside of the tub where it meets the floor. This could been more than an aesthetic issue if I had a toddler with me. It had sharp edges (possibly rust) and was big enough that I could have put my hand in it. It appeared to be molding inside. Shower curtain rod was barely hanging onto the wall. This could fallen and injured someone when they moved the shower curtain. There was an unknown substance dripped on the curtains that was easily visible at about knee high. We had have our room keys remade several times because they would stop working even though we only stayed 2 nights. We even got stuck at the gate to get out of the parking lot. Also the safe in our room had a note that it was out of order. This was a problem because we needed the safe to secure our firearms while at our conference since they did not allow them. We didn't feel comfortable having maid service come into the room since we couldnt secure them. And leaving them locked in a car is very irresponsible since Atlanta is known for car break-ins. The indoor pool and spa was also closed for “repairs”. Also on several floors, the ice machine didnt work, including the 2nd and 3rd floor. While a microwave was offered, it was not in a room. It was in the area with the broken ice machines. Front of microwave looked ok, but sides and inside looked sketchy. I am certainly not going to use a community microwave. And lastly, if you wanted morning coffee in the lobby, you have to pay for it. However there was none to even pay for.
Now for the Burger Place... when we came down to have breakfast (thought they had a buffet that you buy). It was sit down service and there was a 2 top and 4 already seated when we arrived. I think it was around 9:00am. Someone sat us at a table. We then sat there for over 15 minutes with no one coming to take a drink order. So we had to go behind the counter and get our own coffee. Apparently the buffet was there, but no food on it. It had become a server station or something. After getting some coffee and sitting for another 10-15 min or so, the server finally comes out to take our order. The bread pudding French toast was not available, nor was grits, nor were bananas for yogurt. The bread pudding French toast was listed at $15. So my husband ordered regular French toast. She charged us the full $15 for it. It did not come with anything and it was made from white bread. This was not acceptable. Also, I order my eggs over medium and they came out with the white still runny, and the yellow was barely warm. I will also add that my toast was several hours old. It was definitely not toasted to order. It was very hard and stale and definitely was not hot. Ive never had toast that was inedible. daughter ordered a plain pancake with only maple syrup. It came out with strawberries and some kind of artificial strawberry syrup already on it. The fresh strawberries were ok, but she typically doesn't like any kind of sauce except maple and she dips it and doesn't drizzle it (sensory issues). Thats why we ordered it plain. I ended up cutting the red syrup part off, leaving here with only about 5-6 bites of pancake. She also did not get the bacon that she ordered. My other daughter wanted bananas and yogurt, but had to only get yogurt. We ended up filling our own coffee throughout the meal. Because everything took so long, we were now close to being late for our morning appointment. So I didnt fight the issues. We needed to just eat and go. Buy the time we left, there was only one other table sat in the restaurant. It never got busy. I am not picky when it comes to breakfast, but this was probably on of the worst experiences that we have had in a restaurant in a really long time. For a $49 breakfast for the 4 of us, this was totally unacceptable.
I give the hotel a 2 instead of a zero, because the front desk staff and staff we met in the halls were nice, and the beds were super comfortable. We did not use the maid service because the firearms couldn't be secured in the...

They have a shuttle to/from the airport and I waited….and waited then waited some more and it never showed up. I even called the front desk and they said the driver was leaving “in the next 5 minutes”. After 50 minutes a shuttle finally showed up but it was for their other location. It did NOT state this on the bus. The bus’s signage simply said “Sonata Resorts”, period. When the driver dropped off the people at the North location, I asked if they went to South next. The exiting customers laughed at me and said “Good luck with that”. However, the driver took pity on me and dropped me by the other location - which was about 5 minutes away. He wanted $20 or suggested I call an Uber. I paid the $20 for the free shuttle. Irritating but oh well.
Onto the hotel itself. I was IMPRESSED from the jump. First off, the lobby is sleek, modern, and clean. I didn’t have to wait to check in and the woman who checked me in was very nice. My room - OMG! For a 3 star, $100/night hotel, I was beyond blown away. It was very clean, tastefully decorated, and the bed (King room) was soooo comfy! The sheets and duvet were crisp, soft, and bright white. Plenty of soft pillows. The bathroom was very nice, too. No tub but a VERY nice walk-in shower without a door. Super modern and clean. They had a dispenser on the shower wall with body wash, shampoo, and conditioner.
I liked the small touches like individual makeup remover wipes and an individual sanitizing wipe on top of the TV remote. Some of the room’s features were slightly dated like the towel holders and the fridge. BUT the fact they offered a (empty) fridge was nice. It was quiet and I had a good nights sleep.
Prior to bed I ran by their burger place/bar in the lobby. VERY nice. My burger was great (especially the potato wedges - wow), the service good, and the decor top notch. It had a sports bar vibe and lots of TVs. Thoroughly enjoyed myself after a long day of traveling. The next morning I caught the 5am shuttle to the airport. It was exactly on time and I arrived at ATL in under 10 minutes.
I highly recommend this hotel. You’ll be...

I got stuck in ATL overnight and was in the hotel arranged by the airline. I arrived at 11:30pm and was told by the front desk staff that the restaurant was open until 12:-00am (midnight). Even the website states:
Breakfast Hours
Daily: 6:00AM – 11:00AM
Dinner Hours
Sunday – Thursday: 5:00PM – 11:00PM
Friday – Saturday: 5:00PM – 12:00AM.
However, when I approached the staff at the restaurant I was informed they stop serving food at 11pm but the bar stays open until 12:00. So there was NOTHING except the overpriced items in the little convenience closet next to the front desk.
On Saturday morning about 8:00 am, I went to the restaurant for some breakfast. I was told I could order from the menu or they have a buffet for $13.50. I opted for the buffet. I should've known there would be an issue when there were no hot items on the buffet line at all. The pastries were all wrapped in plastic wrap and heaven only knows how long they had been there. The bananas were brown (probably frozen) and they had a small selection of pre-packaged cereal.
The wait staff said I could order hot food through her and they would bring it out. I asked for some scrambled eggs and potatoes. I received what looked to be 2 medium sized eggs and some highly salted potato cubes. When I requested to have some more eggs and some bacon the wait staff told me that would be extra. I objected and she tried to back pedal and claimed to have said the buffet was a continental buffet so if I wanted more hot items I would have to pay for them. Needless to say, that wasn't going to happen. I paid my bill and went to the front desk to ask for a manager. No manager was on duty (strange) the front desk staff took down my phone number and was going to have the Food and Beverage manager call me. It's now noon on Monday and I still haven't heard from the F&B manager regarding the event.
While the room was pleasant enough I was unimpressed that I only had two bath towels and a shower mat as linens in the bathroom. No washcloth or hand towels anywhere in the place....
