I've gone to this Coco Loco on Welsh several times. The first time I went was maybe 3 years ago. The food was mediocre, but decent for the price. The green sauce was great.
I don't know what happened to this place in the last couple years, but the green sauce is now EXTREMELY hot. Freaking flaming habanero hot....I can't even eat a single chip now without having to guzzle a glass of water. I see everyone at the restaurant feels the same way as the green sauce just sits there.... I have said something to the waitress several times and she just shrugs it off... How hard is it to not pour a bushel of jalapenos in there?!?!?
Do NOT order fajita beef on anything...each time I have gotten it, it has been extremely fatty--the worst/cheapest cut possible. I guess I know why the tacos are so cheap....
This last time was the last straw. They gave my girlfriend half RAW beef tacos. When I tried to send them back, they said it was "just turning out that way today". Complete BS.... We also ordered a desert drink, which was never brought out.
I will never go back to this dump...I'm surprised it still has a decent rating, but then again, those ratings seem to be from before it...
Read moreI went to pick up my order and she gave me the wrong order. I called the manager and told her she said that wasn’t her fault and that she wasn’t refund me my money because I should’ve looked at my food before I left. I explain to her that I had specifically asked the girl if this was a correct order, and she replied me yes and then I explain to her. How am I supposed to check the order of your knot the bags up. She was very rude very unprofessional. I left my food there and she didn’t even refund me my money. This place has gone downhill so bad I do not recommend it to anybody. Let me correct myself. The only one that’s really rude is the owner well at least she called us or the owner but when something like this happens, she told me she’s not the owner but she’s a heavyset older woman and she’s very rude and unprofessional because of her they’re gonna...
Read moreI'm not a connoisseur of Mexican Cuisine or Tex-Mex Cuisine. However, I greatly prefer Coco Loco in terms of taste and friendliness to the other big Tex-Mex chains such as On The Border or Lupe Tortilla or Chuy's.
I've always thought that the typical Tex-Mex plates such as a Chicken Fajita Plate was boring and plane(flavor wise), but I thought that the Chicken Fajita Plate at Coco Loco was far superior to the other Tex-Mex places I've tried.
I obviously haven't tried all the dishes on the menu at Coco Loco or at any other Tex-Mex locations in College Station, but I've had good luck with the menu here in the handful of times I've gone.
I'd recommend this place over any of the other big chain Tex-Mex restaurants, but I don't know the authenticity of the place since I'm not familiar enough with authentic...
